nice collectors item

I have this Ukulele for a couple years now. Unfortunately I rarely play this one. It's not because of the looks and finish. The size scale, thickness and looks are exactly as you expect from a mini Les Paul. The fret ands are smooth and the tuners are ok.
Because they wanted it to look like a mini LP they had to reduce the body depth and this is one of the reasons why it doesn't sound good. The edges are about 1,5 cm thick and the top is also a bit thicker than most ukes. All this results in a very quiet and dull acoustic sound. Maybe they had better made it a solid body so you wouldn't have any expectations of it sounding good acoustic. On top of that mine came with the most horrible black nylon strings I had ever seen on a uke. I replaced them with Aquila's which made the sound better but still far away from a similar priced real Concert ukulele (like a Baton Rouge V2).
It's nice to have if you like Les Pauls but I consider it more a gimmick than an actual ukulele.

A
Really fun instrument
Anonymous 08.04.2014
Bought this Uke for my son (8 years old). The idea was to get a well-sized instrument for him without having to buy a 1/2 or a 3/4 guitar, and also to get an easier instrument to begin with (only 4 strings and a faster learning curve).
He really loved the instrument at first sight, and was able to play 5-6 different chords perfectly after less than one hour.
I have to admit I also love this "baby Les Paul". :) Really great looking instrument, even if it's a little bit on the heavy side. Sides are quite thick (routed out of a wooden block), so the uke does not vibrate freely and the acoustic sound could be louder, but it's a very sturdy instrument (which is an advantage for a kid !).
When plugged into a guitar amp, it really kicks asses ! :-)
I will probably change the strings for a set of good uke stings (Aquila) to get a better sound out of it, but it's quite good "out of the box" anyway.

Epiphone Uke

The uke looks "Les Paulically" cool and is much fun to play, allthough there is a lousy (looooose) string set factory assembled. I was about to send it back at first, luckily, I ordered also Daddario spare stringsets, and after refurnishing, my instrument started to sound pretty cool (it also stayed tuned to play more than half a song too). The sound of the instrument is surprisingly good acoustically, and even better when you plug it in. But remember, no active mike. I am not going to write anything about features and quality, because they all are there. Maybe included gigbag should be more padded?

Sir D-Uke!!

This Ukulele is super. I wanted one that could plug into my amp and that I could bring gigging with me. I bought this because I loved the Les Paul look in the picture, it was reasonably priced and I have complete confidence in the Epiphone brand. And boy, am I glad I did. I use it live on a weekly basis. I usually plug it into my Roland Cube 100w bass amp and it sounds great. D.I'd into the PA and it sounds better! Plugged into my Trace Eliot GP12 it sounds even better! Lovely feel and action. If you're looking for an inexpensive electric Ukulele to have fun and perform with then look no further.

Just what i was looking for
Anonymous 22.01.2015
This is exactly the uke I needed! I had previously bought a uke a few years back, but it sounded cheap and toy like. I wanted one that, first of all, had a pickup, and also one that sounded good without being too dear or out of my budget! Epiphone is a very decent brand and I think this uke looks and sounds great. I'm happy with the size, its a little bigger than soprano but not huge by any means. Really happy overall! Sounds great plugged in at gigs as well.

The uke is extremely cool with its Les Paul shape and sunburst colouring. The sound through its pickup if quite nice also. It's not bad that I can complain at all however I probably could get a better pick up. It plays nicely and is quite sturdy. It feels much more like an instrument than a toy, which is what I commonly found to be an issue with uke's.

Plays great.a

Fantastic and simple

This uke has a lovely acoustic sound, and fits very well with other instruments. Its great to play and the finish is very nice and shiny.

There is no preamp so you just plug in to your system and do all your configuring externally (on a mixer or something). Plugged in, it sounds rather nice but the acoustic value is where is shines.

Fun instrument and worthy of doing gigs, assuming you have something like a mixer with eq to control it

Amazing

I recommend purchasing a Ukulele amp to go along with this if you intend to use it by it's pickups. Other than that is is a amazing sounding product which I use during acoustic sets of my gigs.

Bought this as the wife would not let me buy another guitar!

Extremely pleased with the quality, especially for the cost.

Make sure you get a book with it for the tuning alone, different from the guitar and takes some getting used too, but great fun :)
