Excellent value for money!
David D. 133 24.06.2014
These EQ Acoustics Classic Wedge Tiles are excellent value for money, They are my first time buying acoustic treatment for my current studio, and naturally I have spent hours comparing, testing, watching videos reading reviews basically researching critically before spend a sum of money on whats going to be treating my recording studio for my own purposes and because my recording studio is quite small but reasonably empty of massive furnisher it had a lot of bass building up in the corners early reflections and some un-wanted reverberation. I soon found out it wasn't a defuser I needed.. It was absorption panels! Did alot of pricing about and for my budget these out sought everything else. bewteen these EQ Acoustics Classic Wedge Tiles 30 and their bigger brother the EQ Acoustics Classic Wedge Tiles 60's I spent 200 euro and it was money well spent! the sound in my studio is exactly how I've wanted it, and I had some of these panels left over which I made a isolation cabinet with.

Thanks Thomann, for your usual reliable and trustworthy services!

S
Unmatched for the price
Sorwis 08.02.2020
I bought these to eliminate excessive mid to high frequency reverberation times and reflections in my room. They did the job well by considerably dampening the reflections, both measurably and subjectively. At this price there's nothing to equal the EQ Acoustics Wedges.

Placement is the key and I used a measurement mic in conjunction with Room EQ Wizard software (and a lot of trial and error) to test which reflections were the most problematic. After some fiddling around I installed the panels using two-sided adhesive strips (EQ Acoustics Flexi Fit 32 set). They held on for years with this setup but were a pain to remove: a fault of the installation method and not the panels themselves. I recommend thinking twice about how you are going to install these and whether you're ever going to want to take them down cleanly. Proper glue directly on the wall for a permanent installation would be a solid choice. For a makeshift/temporary installation some sort of glued frame hanging from the wall would make for a simple and clean installation method which you can remove quickly and cleanly. You'll save yourself a lot of time and effort in the long run this way.

Useful, but not a miracle cure.
Chris Q. 21.04.2020
I use this on my mirror points for my monitoring - meaning either side of and behind my head and I find they've helped the stereo imaging and the sound quality at the monitoring position considerably. That said, they are meant for MF and HF absorption and will only tackle a certain type of issue.

I had no luck sticking them to my wall with the adhesive as my house is old and the walls are a bit damp. So I mounted them to card and hung that off my walls instead.

Great product due to it's price and amount of tile panels. The panels it-self are good, not the best you could have in your studio but for the price it's a really good deal. I strongly recommend

They look great on they eye. I think on the accoustics part they do their job OK for absorbing the sound.

A
Inexpensive sound absorption.
Anonymous 09.07.2016
The box comes with 16 tiles and is well packed.

I used these tiles for a little bit of absorption in the mid/high frequency range. They will do nothing for the lows, not being thick enough or with enough mass.

These tiles are cut well and look good. They would be useful for anyone who has a small studio and wants to help tame some high frequency anomalies with your room, or on the walls of your mixing room in the first reflection point position. I would recommend using these in conjunction with other sound absorption to treat low frequencies.

All in all a decent product at a good price, though I think they could do 20 for the same price which would make it a better deal.

The ability to place them at 16 different places enable them to fit your needs better than larger panels. However, I think that there is no difference between these, and the cheaper ones with the same specs.

CL
Great absorber, easy to attach and to work with in most rooms.
Christopher L. 18 06.02.2014
This is the most frequent absorber that I'm using in my studio along with the t.akustik 5020 Pyramids and the t.akustik Acoustic Foam 1030 set. All three of them are absolutely satisfying, but the EQ Acoustics Classic Wedge Foam is probably the most mobile one in the sense that it is easy to place them. If you are looking for a thicker absorber, then the t.akustik 5020 Pyramids are a better choice. So it all depends on your room, your priorities and your needs. The price is pretty much the same. From an esthetic point of view you can create patterns, which could be desirable in some cases from a sound point of view as well. When you stick them up I would recommend to use some kind of contact clue, preferably Thomann's own contact glue, Auralex glue or any similar suitable for the purpose.
