I use strictly GHS Boomers but when it comes to spare strings I always go with the Ernie Balls since they are always available and the price is not bad either.
I wouldn't say I've noticed any differences between these and the respective GHS in terms of sound and longevity, so that's a good thing.

As a G string on a 9-40 set or a B string on a 12-50, the fact that Thomann stock a range of gauges makes this option really worthwhile if you wanna customise your own string sets..
