Bought it for my Ibanez 8 String. I must say that in the beginning it was a bit daunting to play a .80 gauge string on a guitar. But with time I got used to it. Great for metal or djent. Very clear sounding.

Possibly storage?

I know the "budget" Ernie Ball strings can be hit and miss but as I bought a 8 string I went with a familiar name and the gauge was around what I was after too.
I've seen this in the past so its not an exclusive issue with Thomann for sure, but getting the new strings out of the pack parts of the string have already weathered (whether (ha) that is the right term or not I'm not 100%) but parts of the string (lighter) have rust marks on them new out of the packet.

Not a good suit for 30" scale guitars with string through body
Rui Nunes 24.09.2021
I've bought this set for a Subzero Rouge IV (30" scale) and the .80 gauge didn't even reach the tuning machine. I suspect that the lack of length is due to this guitar being a string through body on the bridge (which reduces the amount of string length available). If you're using a Squier Vintage Modified Baritone Jazzmaster (30" as well) I believe you'll not have this problem.

HEAVY and Light at the same time
Dan the Noise Maker 02.02.2021
If you have an 8 string, and want to keep high tension on the low end strings, while maintaining easy bending ability on the high end, then these are for you!
I bought them mainly for the low end 80 gauge on the 8th string, and then to have a spare set of 9s
If you like to bend or are used to lighter gauge 6 string guitars, then this is the perfect mid ground!

A good balance.
Philigula 16.08.2017
I don't play my 8 too seriously, however since it is a 28" scale I sometimes just track regular solos on it, since I enjoy the intonation. The low string is fine both in F# and E.
If you like the feel of 9's I seriously recommend this particular set.

It’s Ernieball! Still my favorite after 15 years

Tried these for alternative lower tunings experimenting. Love the tension on the low strings and the clarity of the high strings

Dude... Ernie Ball
Lord Cabot 09.05.2019
I've been using EB strings since forever. Cheap, easy to get anywhere, sound great, indestructible.
I have zero motivation to switch to another brand and will probably never do so.
I only wish they had more variety when it comes to 8 string packs but this is ok for my setup.

Fantastic!
JBravos 20.12.2018
Great sound, but maybe heavy bottom is a bit too much.
It's only good if you wanna tune down the low strings
