I own 11 basses. Some very expensive, some inexpensive but superb in value (ie my indonesian basses).
I was considering a duff mckagen mexican fender, but chose this ESP LTD as i own one of their seven string guitars and its superb in build and sound and price.
This bass arrived with severe fret sprout as did my previous purchase from Thomann. This can be filed and humidified out but makes a terrible first impression. The edges are super sharp.
The sound and build are fine, overall good hardware (pups and bridge)
It feels heavy and lopsided and the neck reminds me of a charvel from the 80’s as opposed to a 87 P bass.
I may keep it but for over £800 its a bad deal, my squier CV and contemporary active P kill this in tone and value - both £400 or less…
There seems to be an ongoing problem with Thomann and the fret issues of their basses. I doubt the clomate between germany and the UK can be blamed, its more likely IMO a warehouse climate issue and lack of proper set up or review before shipping
