I'm on a small budget and was looking for another mic for snare - This mic had pretty good reviews so I thought I'd try it out and am pleasantly surprised - I've used it on toms most and seems to give my Sennheiser mics a run for their money.
Pros: Very solid and sturdy construction, weighs quite a bit for a small mic (I like that) The angle of the mic works great.
Cons: The holder was incredibly stiff to open up and attach to the drum rim (I ended up using a different mount)

I use my EV PL 35s to record toms and they do their job really well. They don't pick up lots of other sounds and focus very nicely on their job. They really make it simple to record drums!
