This is my first head from Evans, and I am stunned. I use it on Pearl birch shell 22x18, and it sounds awesome!!! A lot of lows, and great attack! No overtones. Best kick drum head ever!!
It comes with interchangeable foam dampers and impact patch.
With this head, you can't go wrong! Best buy!

Versatile Head

I really love this bass drumhead because of it's ability to adapt to differents styles of music. If you like to Rock you will get te punch and sustain you need and if you want to (let's say) Funk you are able to tighten this head in a way you wil get a funky attack out of it (especially if you combine it with the proper drum pedal and muffle inside the drum).
Overall I would say great value for money! And it's a strong head on itself, so very durable. As a professional player I would pick this bass drumhead over and over again.
Hope this review helps!

Best kick heads in the business

Been playing these for years, along with the EC2's for the rest of the kit. With a bit of tuning/damping/beater adjustment, I've yet to find anything the EMAD2 can't do.
From clicky techdeath doublekick to downtempo ballads on session work, I only need one model of kick head. Typically I only replace them when there's too much irremovable adhesive from click-patches that get shredded by wooden beaters in metal playing, I haven't ever actually broken an EMAD with a protective patch.
That's saying something, because before switching to these I was frequently putting my beaters through kickdrum heads (either single-ply or other brands.)
