So
Best head on market PERIOD
Sven/Pale origins 20.09.2019
So, I put this head on my Starphonic Alluminium snare and I got sound I dreamed about. I tuned it very high. Sound is perfect combination between dark and clear. It has some kind of depth to it even when tuned high. When I smash rim shot, ussualy with high tuned heads you will feel that rimshot in your ears and head but with this head when I rimshot I can feel it in my chest like you can feel bass drum kick when your standing in front of one. I never thought some drumhead can behave like this in high tunning.

Best buy this year for sure!

I am very pleased with this snare drum head that I just bought. It gives me just that sound that I wanted to get out from my snare drum. It perfectly fits with Mapex Black Panther The Blade snare. Very strong and dry sound (tuned medium).

Big thanks for Thomann Team who always do his best! It took just 5 days to get the package! (Y)

H
Great snare sound
Holger6854 11.02.2015
As a beginner I'm surely lacking experience with how the different parts of a drum set should or could sound like. I bought a second hand kit and changed all drumheads as the old ones looked pretty battered and in case of the snare head the white coating was mainly gone. After a bit of research and through reviews from experienced drummers I've chosen this Evans Genera Dry Coated Snare drumhead. And even though the old one was the very same product the difference it made was huge. The previous owner of my kit has had the head tuned very tight. When I put the new one on and started tuning it up i realized that there was a great sound even in a kind of loose tention. I liked the sound more loose so I've left it at that and enjoy that ever since. Besides it gives a much better rebound. For me it has that typically - if that exsists - snare sound. Having not had the chance to try other makes and types of snare drumheads I cannot really compare. But I'm very happy with the sound of my snare and would most probably choose the very same product again.
The service from Thomann was fine from the order till delivery.

A
Not bad!

I have a pretty cheap aluminium snare and I apply this head to it. I use it live and for recording

Although the snare's cheap, the head surely did its trick. What I found with these heads was that they are very easy to tune. Took me just a few mins to tune it without using a tune-bot tuner and then boom i got the sound I wanted by just playing around with the tuning. I think it sounds amazing when the snare's tuned tightly with this head, and the is suitable for metal drummers

Evans didn't lie about this head. The head features a warm tone with focused sustain. My ears agree that the additional dry vents eliminate overtones and stray harmonics for a crisp, defined attack. Nice mid tone sound

No cons.

Perfect for my needs

Its dry but not as dry as i expected it to be (which is good). Tuning on my custom maple snare was really easy and fast, so far the best drumhead i've ever used.

Bye bye harmonics!

A very useful head if you wish to reduce the harmonics and get a very clean sound. This is the second one I get and I'm very happy with it!

Great, but not perfect!

Really loved the sound of this head. Put it on my vintage Roger's Dyna-sonic and cranked it up. Love this head! If you're after that dry, cracking snare sound - and if you bought this i'm sure you are - then this does the job very well. It made that shell sing, whilst still giving you the tonality of the shell you use it. Only problem - however - is i found that it wasnt as durable as some of the other snare heads i've used. After a couple sessions i found it didn't hold tune as well and it struggled to really sing like when i first got it, and it started to sag after only a few hours of playing. However, perfect for studio, or any professional drummer with a bigger budget. Highly recommend, but not as a long term!

Really one of the best
GuitarPlayerFromMinsk 31.05.2018
Sound, quality is the best. It's classy, and you tune it not so often, and it lives quite long (usually i change it when it looks not so white and not because of the bad sound)
