The lack of 1ply black pickguards is baffling. The one Fender sells is pretty and well painted, but has a ridiculous price. A secondary option would be any 3play black pickguard with a white border and just paint the borders black. You'd get a longer lasting pickguard with the same colour.

Black Strat pickguard
Tamas the Tamas 05.03.2023
I purchased this pickguard for my Black Strat project and it became perfect.
All holes fit great to the Squire CV50 body, neck and also to the Fender CV69 pickup set. Did not have to correct or adjust anything on th pickguard at all during final assembly. Highly recommended.

Nice Gilmour look

I fitted this pickguard on my '96 MIM Strat. It fits very well. It's a original USA made pickguard and comes with an adesive on the front which you can take off to let the pickguard shine. On the back it comes with tinfoil that involves the pickups and control zone. Compared with the original pickguard, I get less noise from the amp, which is satisfying. And it gave to my Strat a nice dark look similar to David Gilmour's Black Strat.

I was expecting higher quality

I was going for the DG's black strat look with this. Seeing this is the only Fender 1-ply black pickguard that's available, I thought this surely is the pickguard that all the black strat builds have.
Not.
The edge of this pickguard is matte and has this sharp look, you can also clearly see marks of a router bit, whereas it should have been glossy with a nice rounded smooth edge.
However it does the job fine if you look from afar, but so would an 8€ pickguard from China.
If you're going for the authentic black strat look, search further. This is not it.
