Sleek, comfortable and tough

I owned Gator's older model, the G-Com, and it has served very well for over 3 years of work. It did have some flaws, but the G-PG seems to have solved them.

The old G-Com did not have shock protection on the bottom, so after 3 years of use, a hole was opened at the bottom, where the strap button is. The G-PG has a very good bottom shock protection cushion, looks like it is not going to happen this time.

It now has a very nice feeling micro fleece lining, instead of the regular fabric.

Other new features include a front top pocket - very convenient for picks, Flash storage and small items, and a front handle that I missed so much on the older model. This is pure convenience when boarding a bus, a train or an aircraft. It's a shame that other more expansive bags just don't have it.

The quality of the zipper tabs also improved - on the older model the main zipper tab was lost during the first week of use.

Another major improvement on the G-Com model are the back straps. Their height is adjustable, and the center of gravity of the bass makes more sense now. It is also easier to pick the bass from the floor. On the older one I needed to bend over to do that.

Storage is still very good and better than most bags in its class or higher, but it is a little less than the older model, where I could store complete sheet music binders, now it can only accommodate pages.

The bag also got longer, to give space for the bottom shock absorption, but I've found that the headstock of my bass still has 3 more inches to spare on the top, and it's a long scale bass (Ken Smith). The older model was already very long, and this one is not going to be easier to push inside an ordinary trunk, or an overhead compartment of planes.

The design is sleek and slim, but it makes an almost too tight fit where the upper body horn of the bass is. My bass design is narrow (BSR shape) and the zipper is closing very tight at that point.

I chose this bag because I think it offers the best protection, storage and features in this price range and even above. I would gladly pay more if the more expansive ones had offered these features, and had enough storage.

Turned out I chose Gator again.

Besides the quality of these bags, it looks like Gator put good effort on development, and fixing the design flaws. I wouldn't have bought a Gator case again if it did not have the bottom protection.

Great buy, Great value.

High quality, nice loking bag with some potential for improvements

All in all a great, rigid bag for safe transportation and storage of your valuable bass guitar. Lots of pockets and space for larger pieces of equipment or even laptop. High quality materials.

However, for shorter scale basses some flexibility in the main compartment would be welcome (e.g. additional side pillows, prolonged protection against tearing on the headstock side). I would like to see also a strap on the neck pillow. Quite large and heavy bag.

Solid and bulky, but quality could've been bettter
xiroV 28.07.2022
Had this for a little over a year now, and I still think it was a great buy. The foam is really thick, so I'm never afraid that anything will happen to my bass even if I accidentally bump into something. It's also bulky enough that it will stand on its own (up against a wall or something), even when empty.

However, I cannot give it 5 stars since I've already had a pretty large tearing on one of the straps. It looks like the stitching haven't been done properly which have caused the fabric to fray. It doesn't really impact the usability, but it doesn't look good and I had not expected that to happen on a bag of this quality.

Great quality but...

It's a great gigbag and is well designed with various pockets and features but I have some issues with this product:
- It's rather heavy for a soft bag - 3.2kg. Combined with the guitar itself and some other stuff like tablet or pedals the overall weight can become quite heavy.
- I don't think the backpack straps are wide enough. This is a heavy package (gigbag +bass guitar+extras) and I don't think straps are comfortable enough.
- The model I received is different from the images. Difference is small but I think pictures should be updated.

I ordered this gig bag to protect my bass when we transport our equipment in a van. Didn't wanna hard case as they are too heavy and unpractical for my needs.

Pro Go quality is second to none; protection, quality of materials and zippers, everything is just top class. There is so much pocket space you can throw anything you want inside.
Gigbag is not heavy at all, as it is often stated in reviews.

However, it's not perfect. Straps buckles are not designed very well, they are too big and are hurting back of my shoulders.
Gig bag can not be bent to save some space on small stages, so it will take same amount of space as any hard case.

As well, it is bigger in length than most average gigbags so won't fit most small or mid-size cars trunks.

I still love this bag, but will have to buy another, lighter cheapo gigbag for situations when I find it unpractical and don't need this level of protection at the same time.
