My bass a:
Sire V2 Updated Fretless Marcus Miller M7 Swamp Ash 5 String Natural
was in dire need of a home. It's currently the most expensive instrument that I own and although I'm not going to be schlepping it around the world, I wanted a safe storage space in my home studio.
As with a lot of modern style instruments, it's never very clear which case to buy but luckily Thomann had a link from that exact bass to a suggested case. This case was it and it's absolutely perfect.
For the price it's an amazing case. Looks, good and is robust. I wouldn't feel easy taking it overseas (that's not that it's flimsy, it's just I wouldn't trust it in a cargo hold) but if you're throwing (sorry placing) it into the back of a van alongside other equipment. Even if you're stacking an amp on top of it, it feels sturdy enough for that.
Price wise I expected to pay a lot more for something of this quality. My only criticism, and it's a small one, is that the balance is slightly off, so when you pick it up, it will drift slightly down due to the body weight. Nothing that alarming or unwieldly, just a slight drift down. (Edit) I'm editing this as I've just picked it up again, and noticed that if you hold it so that the body is closest to you then the drift up makes perfect sense. It carries perfectly.
The bass fits absolutely perfectly, there's no forcing the lid shut and there's space in there fore cables and the odd pack of strings or two.
It arrived with in a few days of being ordered and in a well packed box.
Very happy with my purchase and very happy with Thomann
