Recently I've started to experiment with different rosins as I'm using my bow more. At first I started with the one sent with my bass (gewa, hard) and got on fine with it and it gave me a good reference point.
From there I've decided to try this medium one and I'm quite impressed with it. The Rosin comes in a little cardboard pot with a lid. Remove the lid and slide out the rosin cake which itself is wrapped in foil. Simply remove a strip of the tin foil and apply. Removing tin foil as you work your way down through the rosin.
It applies nice and easily to the bow and draws and holds a great note. One plus I've found with this one is that it doesn't leave a loss of dust on my bass.
