I bought these snares for a very specific job - I own an early 1980's Yamaha 9000 snare drum which requires a longer snare wire. Sadly the Yamaha wires are very hard to come by so ordered this just on the off chance that I might do the job. And do the job it does!
Now the drum is set up with these wires it plays like a dream, the sensitivity is extraordinary and the backbeat is fat and full.

Needed to replace my very old wires. Personally I'm happy with it. Quality is good, sound is good for me too. Of course the sound question is very personal. What sounds good to me does not need to be liked by someone else.
