I added this rubber guard as soon I have purchased my new drum set. It fits nice, and glue is not too firm so you could remove it easily. Also I combined this gibraltar hoop guard with Tama WHP2 Wood Hoop Saver which I stick on the bottom side of the hoop, it is much thinner but enough to protect the opposite side of the hoop from pedal scracthes. Great products indeed, both of them.

Hoop Guards
Anonymous 04.02.2015
The Gibraltar Hoop Guards do exactly what they say- protect your bass drum hoop! I've also found the help with any bass pedals that like to slip off the hoop whilst playing.
They are relatively durable- I had about nine months' usage from my first guard. My main gripe, however, is with the adhesive. This perishes quite quickly, losing it's stickiness completely. After about four months I had to resort to affixing the guard to my hoop with two small strips of gaffa tape. The adhesive sheet is also prone to peeling off along with the sticker cover.
Although annoying, this doesn't stop them from doing their job, and they're definitely worth the minimal cost to help reduce that dreaded hoop rash.

This is a product that most drummers go without, and foolishly so.
These are a must have if you want to save your bass drum hoop from being scratched by your bass drum pedal, also it will help it grip properly.
These are inexpensive and will save you a massive expense in the future if you ever want to trade your kit in, and a guy/girl will want a chunk of money removed from the sale because of the damage to bass drum hoop, this will also save your bass drum hoop in general.
Must have.

Satisfied!

Your basic rubber stripes for guarding drum hoop from pedal scratches. I found glue being not very strong so you can re-align and re-stick if needed. It's not really a problem, because you still tighten the pedal clamp - so it stays firmly in one place. As a bonus it prevents pedal from moving - which is also good.
There are two pieces included, so I put it on both sides of drum hoop.

does the job

easy to fit and does exactly what is says. I have one top and bottom of the hoop for maximum protection. Had to trip off one return edge to make this work in a smoother action but no big deal.

Great bass drum hoop guard
MonikaK 13.06.2014
This is an excellent drum hoop guard as it protects both sides of the hoop. Even though it doesn't stick very well to the hoops, it is still firmly in place when using a drum pedal on it. I would recommend this to anyone looking to protect their drums from scratches on the wood from the moving pedal.

Does exactly what you want

Protects the rim from the nasty bass drum pedal. I had to adjust one of them slightly as I wanted to use both of them to protect both sides on the rim.

Added Kick Protection
Audioline 03.08.2018
Have been using the Gibraltar Drum Hoop Guard on our rental kit and it's a great little add-on. The glue doesn't hold forever but it stays in place for a reasonable amount of time and you can apply a new one pretty easily, just clean the rim surface before applying the product.
Overall a great add-on for kits where the kick pedal has to come in and out multiple times.

superfluous product

came loose after 1 gig - the glue does not stick - it is also too thin to serve its purpose which is to protect the bass drum hoop from being damaged by the drum pedal's clamp - there are many DIY ways to find better solutions - the product (2 items per pack) is super cheap which is its only advantage.
