I bought this as a smaller alternative to my electro-acoustic bass and chose the fretless model to experiment.
The size is great and its much more portable than my electro-acoustic. Easier to store: can hang on a wall without worrying it will pull the bracket off; or, fit a standing position without taking up much floor space.
The sound is quite different due to the alternative string material. Its more like a double bass, with an excellent fretless "wohm" quality. The tone is lovely, string bends and fretless slides are especially fun.
The feel of the strings is a little novel to begin, and you may have to make sure your hands are well dried to avoid sticking (more than usual than metal or nylon strings). But this soon passes as you get the feel for playing.
Tuning requires an extra step too as you need to lift the string off the nut after adjusting so that the tension is evenly distributed. Again, you soon get the hang of this.
To some up, there are a few novel features you'll quickly adapt to due to the strings, but the tone and joy of playing is worth the little extra effort.
