I chose these ferrules as they are a class brand, available in nickel finish and I wanted them to match the rest of my new build Tele parts-caster hardware. The body I am using is a beautifully pre-drilled and pre-finished example. The body holes measured at 10mm for the flange diameter so I ordered these, expecting a perfect fit. Strangely they are quite a bit larger in diameter and body size than Fender originals (8mm flange apparently) so at present they are not yet flush with the back of the body. The flanges are raised but consistently so. As with most Gotoh hardware they are rather substantial and of high quality so fitting them using a fret hammer was quite easy but I think an arbor press would make the job even easier. All I have to decide now is whether I leave them slightly raised, remove them and risk re-drilling the pre-finished body to achieve a flush fit or replace them with the smaller Fender ferrules. Oh the agony of choice!
Would I recommend them? Yes, if the body you are working on is currently unfinished and/or you’re going to drill your own holes and like the idea of having larger than usual access to fit the strings.
