Everything from GraphTech is great quality !
Drnpaca 28.01.2021
I bought this to update the nut on my Epiphone Sheraton !

The original nut on the Sheraton was amazing and I didn't had any problems but once I've upgraded the guitar with Duesenberg trem the guitar started to give me tuning issues , and like all my guitars with tremolo I installed this GrapTech lubricated nut and the tuning problems wore solved.

It was not a perfect fit in height but with a little bit of sanding got it to match perfectly !

Highly recommended every GraphTech product !

Wonderful nut
Legandreus 16.02.2022
I bought this nut to install it on my cheap Ibanez instead of the worn-out factory one. The installation was simple, it was not difficult to adjust the nut to the desired size. After replacing the nut, the guitar began to hold tuning noticeably better, and even this had a positive effect on the sound. Excellent quality, I recommend this.

Good Product - but small tweaks needed
CJ Stone 07.11.2017
This product is very easy to work with (sand down etc). The slotted area for strings caused problems though as the slots were slightly too deep/narrow for some (light d'addario) strings. The high E string sounded like a sitar! Easy fix with a bit of filing

Great nut replacement
aki.tkk 18.07.2021
I bought this nut to replace the nut on my Yamaha guitar. The size was perfect, had to file it just a bit.
Tuning is now easier than ever, before my strings would go out of tune quite often but now I don't have to tune a lot.

For the price it is definitely worth it, you can't go wrong

Small part, big difference
Anonymous 24.03.2014
I started using Graph Tech nuts when building the first guitar by myself.
Not only they look cool, all black with this matte surface, but they are also easy to work with and improve the tuning stability by a great amount.

You know the little delay in changing pitch that sometimes occur when you turn the tuner from one direction to the other? This happens when the friction of the string in the nut slots is too high. This causes bad tuning stability because the string is 'caught' in the nut slot and with the next bend of the string it doesn't slide back into position properly and your tuning is gone.
With the Graph Tech nuts the friction is so low, you can turn the tuner knob just the tiniest bit and the pitch of the string changes instantaniously.
And that even with the cheapest tuners i found on the web (due to low budget on my first build).

I am so convinced in these Graph Tech nuts, that i will soon replace the nuts on my bought guitars as well.

Used on Gretsch with Bigsby
irfrench 13.11.2014
Excellent product! A friend was having tuning stability on Gretsch and I offered to replace the nut for him.

The nut comes a little oversized so you will need to file down the height and width to fit your guitar. As the nut comes pre-slotted you will not have mark your string locations but you will still have to file them to the correct height/shape.

The open string tone (it only really affects the un-fretted tone) is brighter, but the main purpose was to have a permanently lubricated nut to work its magic with a Bigsby. It served its purpose admirably and has cured all nut-generated tuning issues!

If you are looking for a simple swap solution this wont be it. If you're looking for a nut to fit yourself, assuming you have the skills, or one to give to a tech to fit - it is highly recommended!

I love these :)
Angelus502 10.05.2015
As much as I love giving my nuts a good lube up ; ) these are so much better.

Strings stay in tune so much better, even on fixed bridge guitars.

Fitting is dead easy. Material is great to work with and easy to file/sand of any excess. A local luthier suggested to me to try and get the hight correct without cutting into the slots, as the pre cut slots wear better than if you start taking material out.

I haven't noticed much difference to tone or sustain, mostly because I usually mod pickups and upgrade tone caps, treble bleed, etc at the same time, maybe a little brighter and clearer, and slightly better sustain.

Tuning problems solver
António 21.08.2014
I use graphtech nuts in all my guitars. It is impregnated with Teflon which means that you don't need to lubricate it with graphite or other kind of lube.
For guitars equipped with tremolo, bigsby or floyd rose type bridges, it helps a lot to keep the guitar in tune (make sure you have no other parts restraining the strings like bad string trees, etc..). In acoustic, classical and fixed bridge electric guitars, it makes tuning easier, prevents string breaking and helps to keep tuning when doing bends.
It looks more rigid than any other material that I've tested (bone, plastic etc), but it's not hard to sand to achieve the desired height.
