Very good, nearly great..
StudioLamaisonBleue 22.02.2020
Ordered the the CL1 first but it was too big, so this was the replacement - thanks to Thomann for their great returns procedure. Build quality is very good and it's nearly a fantastic product - a simple but strong spring clamp attaches it to the cab and it's easy from there to find a good close micing position.
Downside - the "adjustable edge grip"- ie the little clamp that fixes the CL1 S to the side of the cab - is not quite adjustable enough for all makes of cab. I have a Blackstar 2x12 and there isn't enough space to clamp securely to my cab in this instance - about 5-10mm more adjustment and it would be a 5 star product. I can mod it to fit, so no major issue, but it's something to be aware of. Definitely worth considering at the price, though.

B
A great way to mount a microphone to a guitar amp
BernieW 25.06.2022
I'd seen something like this and wanted one, then saw this new Gravity model and jumped at it. I'm glad I did, it's much neater than placing a tripod-based stand in front of an amp and more compact on small stages. Nothing to trip over! And it won't tip or get kicked over, plus the position you set is where it stays for the whole gig. It can mount from the top or side of the amp, even underneath. The bright green trim isn't to my taste but you don't notice it from off-stage. It folds up to a compact size for transport or storage. Uses strong metal for most of it and the machining is accurate. It can take a couple of tries to get the exact position you want and you can adjust the position of the mic on the arm, but not the length the arm extends from the clamp. There is some play in the mechanism but in use the spring tension prevents rattling. Some of the parts are plastic where you might feel they could be metal, but it helps keep the price very reasonable. After some use I find that some mics make it sag, even an SM57. I feel it should be able to support such a common microphone without difficulty. Even a lighter e906 makes it tip slightly. It won't fall off, but it's not 100% stable. It's also easy to lose one of the knobs and the small parts that help grip the edge of an amp.
The stability is better if you mount it to the top of the amp but not all amps will suit this as it may block the controls.

T
Great clamp. Well made, works great.
Thomas-FOH 05.10.2021
I've already used the larger version on cabinets, and now there's finally a version I can use on the Combo amps. Fits well to JC120, VOX, Fender, etc.
It does take some adjustments and getting used to for optimum Mic positioning, but that is quickly learned. I ordered some more and they are perfect with my E606 & E906 Mics.

Its great in principle but....
Marler 15.03.2022
Its a great design concept but unfortunately the spring mechanism in the unit for clamping onto the amp vibrates and makes noise when the amp is being played. Which for live gigs probably isnt a problem but for recording is an issue.
Still if i find a way to dampen the unit can and will be very useful.
