This thing makes it incredibly easy to point a mic exactly where I need it. Very useful in combination with a gooseneck or amp-clamps. I highly recommend having one or two in your mic case.

Always handy, strong, but with a quirk
Animale 01.08.2020
For even more versatility with mic positioning.
It has some decent strenght in it to experiment with other applications when it's not in use.
Now I hung up a laptop plate on a mic. boom arm to angle it in position..it holds up very well. And it stays that way.
But I had the issue of having to go through quite a hussle being able to screw it tight when having found a perfect angle.
This issue has been brought up by several other reviewers as well.
That's not caused by using (or not using) tightening rings, it;s the way this thing is made. It's the 'quirk' it possesses.
So my personal verdict:
Very good clamping power (it holds a tray with a laptop in an angle with confidence, so heavy mikes for sure), but this one needs a build in bottom lock ring, otherwise you're going to hassle to lock the position with every more-than-standard application, like working in tight spaces.

Perfect multifunctional 3/8" angle-adapter
Anonymous 18.11.2016
This adapter was just what I a needed for a long time and I am very happy that I finally found this product, of which I immediately ordered 2 pieces.
The build-quality is very good and the price is fair.
It helps me to deal with at least 3 of the following situations:
Miking a grand piano with Manfrotto Super Clamps or Mini Clamps. When using this clamps to attach microphones on the edge of or completely inside on the metal frame, you would miss a way to freely angle the microphones without these adapters.
Miking an upright piano with a X-Y bar in a stereo configuration. The adapter is attached between the end of the boom of a normal or overheard mic stand and the stand can be placed either on one side or at the back of the piano. This way you can always correctly align the bar.
Positioning of a Zoom recorder or any other microphone that have limited or no angle settings on a mic stand. Mind that for the Zoom you will need an adapter to go from 3/8" to 1/4".
Update: I noticed after first using both units at the same time that one of the units is faulty. There is an area, where both mounting points are aligned in a straight line, that the adapter keeps being loose after completely fastening with the knob. This means that one of the two units that I purchased is useless.
Because this is with one out of two and fastening is the major function of these fairly simple adapters, I consider this as poor quality. This degrades my number of stars from 5 to 2.

The adapter I like the most
Laivheli 31.01.2022
Perfect adapter to make your mic be positioned as expected. Easy to tight and easy to release. Holds any mid weight mics. Not good for heavy weighted large diaphragm mics we use in the studio. But lighter instrument mics work perfectly with it.

Completely stupid!
Rasound 23.09.2020
You can't get this horrible thing tight. You screw it on a 3/8 mic stand, no thumbwheel in between, that'll drive you crazy!
The 3/8 male tightens the adapter ánd the joint so when you want to set the angle you also loose the mic-arm so the mic falls in the gravity-rich position.
So that's why the brand is called so.
I intend to get a ribbon roommic rb500 in place but.... 20 seconds if i'm lucky.

Good, but counter-intuitive to use and not very easy to adjust or secure
David B-G 08.04.2024
I like Gravity products but bought this and another brand and side by side the Gravity performs poorly - I had to use plumbers tape to make the grip of the ball socket tight and also confusingly there is an allen key grub screw to fix the joint securely which appears to double up on the rubber wheel tightener, and if you undo both it falls apart into its separate bits. Once you get it in place and all firmly tightened up it provides good angles for tight spaces and angles for a microphone, but to then change it is not straightforward and unlike other brands which I have also reviewed you have to have an allen key ready to be able to adjust it.

Very useful
Illusionaire 25.09.2020
I am very satisfied with this adapter. It gives me the flexibility to set the mic's in any angle. Especially useful for mic bars for multimic setups.
It is sturdy and locks safely when tightened.

Does not stay in place
Thomas dB 13.09.2020
Does not hold the clamp very well. Microphone ends up falling most of the time. Using with the Rode boom arm, but mostly useless in my current studio setup.
