I was given a ukulele as a gift many years ago. It never really held it's tuning. As my son decided to pick it up, he didn't want a new one, just wanted this one to work as it should. I got some new strings and the Grover Champion tuning pegs. They are super simple to fit and work great. The only downside is that they are direct mechanics as opposed to geared. This means tuning is slightly more difficult than with geared tuners. If you have a little patience, that's totally fine. Once the strings have settled and the ukulele is tuned, all is good. The pegs hold the tuning superbly. Just be prepared to be very accurate as you only have to turn the peg a very small amount to adjust the note, compared to a geared tuning peg. If fitting for a child, beginner or someone with little patience to use, maybe go for a geared option. If you are happy to spend a little time tuning, these are great. Very easy to fit, well made and do a great job of holding the tuning.
