ABOUT DELIVERY: Many problems when shipping the order. 1) When I placed the order, it appeared on the website that the guitar was in stock. But when I got the order confirmation, I was told that they don't have it in stock, so it will be available in 2, 3 weeks. In this situation, I chose to ship the entire order, because in addition to the guitar, I also ordered a case, a set of spare strings (Elixir) and a stand. 2) Instead of making a single delivery, Thomann preferred to split the order into two parts, one with the other items ordered (case, strings and stand), and the guitar was sent later. 3) In turn, UPS messed up the address for the first package, the one with the box, it arrived in Romania and was then re-sent to a warehouse in Hungary and then, again, to Romania. Just like in the stupid movies! And about the second package, the one with the guitar, I was told that there was a mix-up, an exception, and the delivery was delayed by another week. Like in the movies with the Marx brothers and at Thomann and at UPS! 4) I phoned Thomann and presented the situation, and the next day, UPS sent the first package but I was asked to pay for the entire order. Obviously I refused, saying that if I opted for the transmission of all the ordered items, I'm waiting for them according to the order, so I refused the pick-up and, obviously, the payment. 5) I called Thomann again and asked them to tell UPS to hold the first package in the warehouse until the second package arrived with the guitar and only then to bring them to me, which happened. 6) Fortunately, the dialogue with the people from Thomann, both in Germany and in Romania, was civilized, and, following my reports, things were unblocked quite quickly. However, instead of receiving my order in 6 days as originally advertised, I received it after 20 days. ABOUT THE GUITAR: It sounds really great. The sound is very strong and "round", balanced. Maybe I would have liked more sonority on the G, B and E strings, and I'm thin. I also have an Eko doublesix Ranger 70, and that one sounds the same, powerful but a bit more crystalline. Either way, the Guild F-2512E Maple ATB Westerly is a guitar that delivers well above its price tag. It plays easily, I don't have to press too hard on the strings. It doesn't fake the fifth, the octave, or higher. The tuning mechanism works pretty well, probably the strings weren't tensioned too well when they were first put on, but that's not a problem as long as they don't go out of tune. I highly recommend this guitar but advise customers to keep a close eye on delivery to avoid any problems, especially with the busy winter holiday season approaching. ABOUT THE CASE: I ordered a Gator Deluxe Case Jumbo box. It looks ok, but it seems a bit shaky. It's a little off-center from the hinges, but I don't have too many problems carrying it in my personal car. Once again I recommend this model of guitar for those who want a very good doublesix and lastly thanks to Thomann for clearing the situation when problems arose but again, keep a close eye on the status of deliveries. For the reasons described above, I give 5 stars for the guitar and only 3 stars, and this is due to the ultimately effective dialogue with the Thoman representatives.
