Great strings for a great price
Anonymous 24.01.2017
I use to use Elixir strings for years, my sweat is very corrosive and for a long time that was the only way to go. I tried these last summer and I must say they work great for me. Nice warm tone, plenty of spank and punch, long life and no corrosion - who could ask for more at such a great price. Now these are mine favourite strings for acoustic - for fingerstyle, slide or strumming - these work great. After 30 years of playing a guitar I have finally found the strings that do not cost that much but still have everything I need. I am currently experimenting with different gauges and again I have decided to use Harley Benton strings for my acoustic guitars - you just can`t beat the quality/price ratio. I actually liked a slightly warmer tone these have compared to Elixir, they are warm and not so bright as acoustic elixir - just the way I like it. If you are looking for a great quality at a resonable price these are the strings for you. I will surely buy more in the future - as an active musician I always need reliable and good sounding strings for my guitars.

Inconsistent quality has spoiled first impressions

I purchased 30+ packs of these strings after a friend passed me a set to try and I was very impressed.
I've waited to provide a review in case the issue i faced was a one or two time problem, but sadly, no.
in the positive, the tone of these strings is comparable to a far more expensive brand that I am used to, and they feel great under the fingers.
However the strings I have received do not live up to the promise of the pack I was gifted!
They still sound/feel just as good however they are not durable, or should I say, one of them is not durable?
I gig 2-3 times a week and I use Eb tuning so the strings are not even at full tension but I am finding that the B string is consistently snapping during gigs. Almost Every performance is now being interrupted by a string change. I've had them break at the nut, the bridge, the pin and even partway down the fretboard.
I'm not even an "aggressive" player. I don't use a pick and mostly just provide fairly gentle strumming!

The problem I now have is that I posses many packs missing the B string!

I will still probably order a couple more packs with whatever I next purchase, to see if the defect was specific to my batch, as my fist experience was that these were excellent strings.

(P.S. does anyone know where I can purchase about 30 B strings?)

Been using Elixir for my acoustics for years and these seem to be equaly good!
They've been on the guitar for awhile, still sound good and show no signs of rust.
Will buy again.

Good Quality for working guitar
Fayser 07.10.2019
Ok so you could indeed go for the "well know" brand of coated strings and certainly I have done so for many years.. but I decided to try out the HB ones as a throw away project to see if they could work... well, well, pleasantly surprised... If like me you want to have the new string sound last for a decent length of time I think you will find that these do the job nicely. Good bang for the buck no doubt.

Nice strings
Bullyweeman 01.03.2018
I've always used Martin Phosphor Bronze, mainly, if not totally down to habit. I kept thinking I should try something different. I bought some of these, and some for electric, and so far they seem pretty good. They feel good, and they sound pretty good to my ears, and that's all I can really go on. The guitar I use the on ids a good, all solid woods acoustic, so it's probably going to sound decent, anyway, but I didn't hear any drop in the quality, with these strings on, as opposed to the others..

Seem to last forever.
Har66zwgr 13.03.2020
I bought 3 sets but still am using the first one for more than 18 months about 4 times half an hour per week. There is maybe a bit of loss of brillance but I do not care: the feel is till almost as new.
