A lot of fun as my first Multi FX peda
Ermini 10.07.2023
Got this unit for a few months now, and i'm very pleased with it. Make sure you install the update which is provided on the website. A lot of preset and a lot of custom options. Also make sure to calibrate foot pedal!

Only minus that i can think of is that when running the unit as an audio interface, there is no option to shut off the direct monitoring. (or at least not that i know of).

Overall i would recommend this unit if you dont know what sounds you like and are not ready splurge a whole lot of money on different amps. This unit provides you with the F, V, and M amp sounds to get familiar with. I mostly play clean which this unit does beautifully imo. But this unit persuaded me to also try some more gritty sounds.

Great sound for the Buck !
Maria Mendes 12.07.2024
This Harley Benton DNAfx Git Pro promises to amaze anyone who
plays guitar for fun (and even professionals).
It is a nice looking hardware, very well made, easy to use, compact
and lightweight enough to fit into a small backpack, or even inside your guitar Gig-Bag ! Which is the way I carry it to a concert, because it is so compact !
It also provides tons of great tones and effects and the possibility to entirely customize them with quality and reliability. It already comes with
an excellent variety of presets to make you play for days non-stop.
I can now play all the guitar sounds from all of my favorite bands and guitar heroes !
Get one today.... it is worth it !

I had LOADS Of Amp-Sim Pedals (POD MK 1....Mk 2...Mk3 (The Black One) and other EXPENSIVE Ones......The Pods eventually ended up as basically FX RACKS.(Before they BROKE-...I hate pedals & the mess that comes with them....MY AMPS And Multi Cabs re better then ANYTHING I that pod department. Then Along comes the DNA PRO!!!!! I use it as a stereo FX/Amp/Cab MODIFIER between My TWO main amps....(Vox AC30 Custom and a Fender Customshop 2x10 15 watt Vaperiozer. The set up is GREAT......Dial In The sound you want.Save it.Name It and stick into an empty Memory slot....That simple....And you can make INCREDIBLE Sconce Fiction Sounds....Or Flamingo sounds a fast as my description above (about programming) As soon as you figure out "How It Works" Setting up for GREAT EVERYTHING Is a Piece of CAKE......And once youre set up NOTHING CHANGES.....And if you have the misfortune of gatting stuck with some Newbie with a JCM 100 and a 2021 LP who is HELL BENT UPON SHOWING HOW LOUD HE IS.....Because YOU have Calibrated tou're rig with the "Master" (on the DNA) on 3 and you're amps on 8......All you gotta do is "wind 'er up to SEVEN......Stomp "Compressor" and it's GOOBUY JCM100 & Newbie.......I LOVE THIS THING!!!!! Awesome all-in-one tool.
Jakub W. S. 20.07.2022
Your can play anything using this one. No doubts. If somebody will say 'I can't get a good sound' he's lying.

When I use it as modeller I need nothing else. As with all units like this one hour need some time before you will do all without thinking.
But I have ordered it having on mind using as smallest footprint pedalboard for real tube amp having 4CM running. As a "cover-guy" I can save all songs settings on huge memory of unit. One thing I don't like is amp control. It is impossible to save channel of your amp for a preset. You have to touch ftsw for active preset and then clock again to change channel. That makes impossible to change presets in-song. Like. f.ex. preset A for clean + mod for a verse and presets B for gain channel, no mod, lots of delay for chorus in song. Amp wilk remain on channel chosen on preset A. Which basically makes it useless, just grab ftsw delivered with your amp.

Please make it possible to choose: Amp control global or Amp control by patch.

Great For The Price!
AliasYureiOtaku 23.01.2022
I had my expectations pretty standard considering this is on the cheaper side of modelers, but I like the Harley Benton brand and wanted something physical to mess with instead of plugins all the time. This outperformed my expectations, now don't think it's perfect out of the box, it took me about 4 hours to figure out everything to get a good sound. But now with that knowledge I can get a good sound pretty easily for any genre. Alot of the onboard cabs are pretty good, and you can load IRs into the product as well. Overall, great product I think. Only downfall for me personally is not being able to how more than 1 of the same type of effect, which I hope they might be able to add in a future update. But overall I think it's worth what I paid.

J
Very capable modeler at a great price
JWKATL 29.07.2024
I wanted a modeler that I could use for both guitar and bass, and the DNAfx GIT Pro is exactly that.

It takes a little time to learn, but it's fairly intuitive.

Pros:
- tons of effects across multiple effects types
- easy to rearrange the order of effects
- built in volume/expression pedal
- stomp pedal mode is great; easy way to turn up to 3 different effects on/off for a patch
- can add custom IRs for cabinet type (can be used for acoustic guitar IR too)
- very capable looping mode which I haven't mastered yet
- feels very solid
- easy navigation from patch to patch and bank to bank

Cons:
- can only use each type of effect once (no double compression)
- cannot add additional effects (e.g. custom amp or reverb)
- large power brick (can't run off USB C)
- uses old USB connector instead of modern USB C

I have another box that is specific for bass that has better sounding and more intuitive tones for bass, but this one works well enough for bass and great for guitar, so I'm keeping this one. I mostly play acoustic guitar, so I can't speak to how close the electric models are to the real things.

The build quality appears to be great. It feels sturdy and looks great. Overall I'm quite happy with it, especially for the price.

C
great device with room for improvement
Charaiveti 06.02.2023
i purchased dnafx git pro in september 2022, after testing it at thomann's store, in germany... at home, i realized there's no way to make the software work with my macbook pro m1. however, this solved miraculously after a new system update from apple. a lot of time passed since then and i see that dnafx git pro software is still at version 1.1.0... and a firmware update is definitely needed: pedal used in volume mode has a rough behaviour, not smooth at all in the interval 0%-15%. when in expression mode, the pedal seems to work fine. also, another improvement would be to enhance the looper with the delete last layer function -- that's so much needed.

beside all that, the sound of the dnafx git pro and the connections are simply great. a remarkable piece of engineering at such a decent price. i'm sure the next firmware update can make it even better than it is right now. please, thomann / harley benton, release a new update soon!

i would have given 5 stars, but the quality of the present firmware 1.1.0. doesn't allow me to do so.

also, not that the software (including the firmware version) existing on harley benton site is outdated, download the version existing on the thomann product page.

Strange quirks ruin a 5/5
bagdus 05.01.2022
I was going to buy the smaller version, when i saw this "Pro" variant had just released. I assumed it would be a bigger and better version.

I'm disappointed in the handling/interface of the product. The software that i found here on Thomann (but not Harley Bentons own page), is not working at all (crashes on start). And working with the product using the display is not great. There's no preset overview, so flipping to a desired preset can take ages (All presets + their variants). The physical knobs for tuning the virtual knobs are hard to control, a little to fast and you increase the value 50%, too slow and it takes ages.

The sound is really good IMO, this is my first multi effect pedal and I've only used Guitar Rig before, but i much prefer the physical control and sound of this already.

Strong DON'T buy — you will not get any support, like firmware updates etc..
Gaeevy 08.07.2023
Yes, it's quite affordable compared to the features it includes. And the sound is pretty good.

BUT, it's absolutely unsupported. I can't install software because the latest version of the software is 1.0.1, the firmware of the proc is 1.0.3, and they are not compatible. And without the software, I can't upgrade it to the last 1.0.4 version. The tech support ignores me and doesn't answer emails and chats. There is no info on the internet on how to fix this issue, as this proc is not so spread among musicians. All youtube reviews are very complimentary but do not reflect reality.

Also, it has a pretty huge lag (~0.5 sec) between switching effects. Probably, it may be improved in the 1.0.4 version, but I can't test and prove it (see above why).

Better alternatives out there
James K 04.01.2022
I have owned a few different modellers over the years from a POD to a Helix LT. I currently have a Headrush MX-5 so I bought this to see how it feels against that and if it can bring additional sounds to my recording.

First up, there is no printed manual and Thomann shipped this to me without a UK adaptor. They sent me an adaptor separately though after I contacted them.
The software can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.

Upon opening the box, the unit was a nice metal chassis and looked high quality. Good start.
It came with the PSU, EU plug, USB cable and nothing else.

Upon plugging it in, it started faster than any modeller that I've owned in recent years.

I tested it using professional studio headphones and also a Headrush FRFR108 speaker. Both gave excellent sound reproduction.

The Good
- Simple to use (changing parameters)
- Great clean sounds
- Excellent auto-wah
- Excellent inputs/outputs
- Good desktop software

The Bad
- All the distortions and overdrives sound very similar.
- Pain to navigate the banks of presets
- Not an ASIO interface so you need to install ASIO4ALL
- Expression pedal seems to not have an accurate sweep, even when calibrated. Feels like when the heel is down and you go toe down, nothing happens until about the half way point then the sweep is too sensitive.

I'm returning mine as it just isn't good enough to warrant me keeping it. Shame Thomann now charge for return shipping :/
