I wanted a modeler that I could use for both guitar and bass, and the DNAfx GIT Pro is exactly that.
It takes a little time to learn, but it's fairly intuitive.
Pros:
- tons of effects across multiple effects types
- easy to rearrange the order of effects
- built in volume/expression pedal
- stomp pedal mode is great; easy way to turn up to 3 different effects on/off for a patch
- can add custom IRs for cabinet type (can be used for acoustic guitar IR too)
- very capable looping mode which I haven't mastered yet
- feels very solid
- easy navigation from patch to patch and bank to bank
Cons:
- can only use each type of effect once (no double compression)
- cannot add additional effects (e.g. custom amp or reverb)
- large power brick (can't run off USB C)
- uses old USB connector instead of modern USB C
I have another box that is specific for bass that has better sounding and more intuitive tones for bass, but this one works well enough for bass and great for guitar, so I'm keeping this one. I mostly play acoustic guitar, so I can't speak to how close the electric models are to the real things.
The build quality appears to be great. It feels sturdy and looks great. Overall I'm quite happy with it, especially for the price.
