It does what it says

I've bought two of these; one for the measuring purposes and the other to make DIY nut files (the real nut files are terribly expensive and shamelessly overpriced, especially if you're only planning to use them once in a blue moon and there are a couple of videos on YouTube explaining how you can make them yourself out of the feeler gauges).

They come in a sort of a nylon/plastic sheath and as some of the other reviewers mentioned; they are drenched in some kind of oil, possibly to serve as a lubricant and/or to keep them from rust, so you'll likely need to keep a tissue at hand when taking them out, at least for the first several times of use, because it seems impossible to wipe it all just in one attempt.

I've used them several times now for measuring, they don't feel too flimsy and seem like they'll gonna last. They do seem a bit sharp on the edges, so be careful when handling them.

They're accurate and very, very plentiful.
Ivan Getov 05.11.2021
They even have some extremely thin gauges that are just shy of being classified as foil. They do their job and they come in a little case for storage and protection.

My only problem is that they're almost dripping in oil. You can see how they're drenched in oil inside the case and the nut that hold the gauges in their place is prone to loosening up with use, because everything is overlubricated.

You can clean them up with a paper towel, if you feel like doing it. Otherwise just clean up after use.

Great for checking relief, but really oily
Marten M 16.06.2022
These come in at a really good price and work just as great for checking neck relief as some more expensive ones from luthier shops do. Unfortunately, they have quite a layer of oil on them, which makes them a bit more painful to use. The price is really compelling though, so I won't nick more stars than one and if I could, I'd give these 4.5 stars.

Clean it before use
the damier 17.03.2021
as reported by other users, the gauges come soaked in oil.
It needs some time and paper towels to clean it but the product is good

Good enough for guitar setup
Benjamin I. 12.07.2021
Some of the thickest blades are 3 or 4 hundredths too thin or too thick, and some of the thinnest are a couple hundredths too thin or too thick, but many have the right thickness.

So this set is not for a machinist but it's accurate enough to do a good setup on a guitar, and costs very little so it can be recommended for this particular use.

Good choice
Acos 04.09.2024
This tool will do the thing for reasonable price. Be aware, it has oil on it. It will dirty your hands with the oil, but don't wash the oil from the tool. Most such probes need it to be protected from corrosion. The tool comes with small bag to keep it covered. But the bag quality is bad for the tool that should be a little oiled.

There are more gauges than any guitar player would ever need. And as always with these things, they are drenched in lubricant.

Very useful and practical tool
nikreiman 12.09.2023
A great measuring tool, particularly for truss rod adjustments etc. This tool is quite oily when new, which is a bit annoying but I suppose it is necessary to protect the metal feelers from sticking to each other.

Not really swimming in oil but there is some oil indeed. I wonder if it is needed to keep them rust free and what will happen in the future after the oil is wiped off.

They do what they are supposed to, I wish I had bought a set earlier.
