A good buy on a good bass

While the bass that received had some issues (neck pickup did not work, and terrible fret sprout), once I set it up, put my preferred strings on it, got the electronics repaired (which Thomann reimbursed me for) and filed the frets down, I was/am quite pleased with the bass. Nice tone, and a good feel. It is a bit heavy, but I do most of my practice sitting so it is not an issue.

Good bass for a beginner or as a back-up

I use this in my home studio. I am a guitar player, but I record bass parts for my music. For the very reasonable price this bass offers basic bass tones. Please note: pickups are very low output. I can only record it hot enough with preamp or booster. Also, the neck seems unstable - I had to tighten the rod twice. I hope it remains fixed now.
