I bought two sets of these to retrofit to a cheap mandolin that I bought, which had horrible quality plate tuners. I needed something small and compact, and locking seemed like a sensible extra perk for not too much money.

The mini keystone heads are small enough to not be cramped on a mandolin, the locking function works well, and the gearing is nice and low, and NEARLY as smooth as the top names on the market, but not quite and there is a tiny bit of gear backlash.

Overall, very happy with the purchase and the job they do. Fits the bill perfectly.

Now, what to do with the four tuners I have left over...

Improves tuning stability and ease of changing strings

I haven't used these for very long however using a trem bar necessitated some locking tuners. They improved the tuning stability though I suspect the nut needs more work. They are decent quality and for the price you won't find better. Put them on my Harley Benton CST-24t. Would love a version in gold.

These are great tuners and get the job done without breaking the bank.
the installation went quite easily on my ltd ec 256 as these tuners fit the stock tuners to a t. no need to drill holes on headstock!

Bought these solely on price. I wanted to upgrade tuners on my CST 24T (which is an inexpensive but fabulous guitar) so not economically viable to spend too much on upgrade and these do the job just fine. No noticable difference in tuning stability as stock items were ok but I really like the ease in which you change strings, the end.
