Harley Benton Parts T-Style Switch Knob BK
I bought a year 2000 Fender "Baja" telecaster and it arrived missing the switch tip, I usually wouldn't bother with aftermarket parts and would rather buy "genuine" fender parts but it's only a plastic switch tip and the Fender T-Style switch tip costs £6.71 for a pack of two which seemed a bit expensive for a tiny piece of plastic so I thought I would take a chance on the Harley Benton switch knob.
The Harley Benton was a perfect fit, simply pushes into place and doesn't fall off, it requires a very deliberate pull to remove, a great result.
I already have two Fender AVRI (American Vintage Reissue) '52 telecasters so I am able to compare the Harley Benton switch with a genuine Fender item for those that are interested.
Both switch tips look and feel the same, same colour, same overall shape and proportions and both plastics feel the same.
The main difference is when you look underneath the fender has a slot recess for the metal switch blade to fit into and the Harley Benton has a cross shaped recess for the metal switch blade to fit into.
Both switch tips feel equally secure of the metal blade.
Fender overall length is approximately 14.65mm, large diameter part is 12.05mm while the smaller diameter part is 9.74mm
The Harley Benton overall length is approximately 14.55mm, large diameter part is 12.03mm while the smaller diameter part is 9.62mm.
All measurements wee taken with a digital caliber but without it you can can only tell which is which by looking a the recess for the metal switch blade on the back.
