Do not cut your old strings trying those, because you will be putting them back.
The only good thing about those strings is price.
They are Way too short. E string barely reached the peg and that was closest to the nut. I have impression that only core is under tension. They may be long enough for a short scale but there was no information about length in the description. A and E are completely dead only D, G are barely acceptable. Actually I never used strings long enough to be as dead as those right out of the package. Very rough surface. More resembling one of those wire saws you can find in survival kits rather than strings.
Final word: rather boil your old strings than buy those. Spend one more night practising instead of going to a pub and you will be able to buy a decent set.
