That price though

Not really a bass player i am, but when composing a song i do need one. But i really particular about tone, so if its not sounds good, it makes me less motivated. Stumble upon this one on my journey to find cheap but good bass strings.Im using HB-550 through Ampeg BA108 v2. And i play Metal mainly.

Pros:
-Surprisingly durable.
-Sounds goods, not just useable but it really is sounds good.
-Clear clarity sound when slap and pluck
-Really pronounce my bass's sound

Cons:
-Still doesnt reach level of my last strings (D'addario) but look at the price.

My brother who was a bass player also like how this strings sound, its not to good but not bad. As someone who influenced by japanese music scene, we really does particular about tone since every songs almost have different settings to it. Finding a fitting strings does hinder the process sometimes. Really recommended this string to anyone playing not particularly in one style on genre.

These are good strings
Anonymous 29.01.2015
Quite frankly, I believe these are very good strings. Out of the box, they might be a little less bright than their £ 25+ counterparts, but they definitely fit the bill. No difference would be heard in a live setting, mind you, and there is really no reason to get more expensive strings unless you have quite a unique feeling with them. I've had them on for about a month, so I can't really speak about how long they last. They're still quite bright, though. I might use the thomann vouchers I have to buy some extra packages, so I don't have even risk remaining without.

These strings feel very nice. In terms of tension, I would say that they are not as stiff as D'Addarios or Ernie Balls. I like that, but you might want something different if you are a heavy picker or whatever. They are not as coarse and rough as Warwick Red Label strings (thank god).

I currently have these strings on a P Bass and they sound quite right. I can see myself putting these strings on high-end instruments without hesitation.

Give them a try ? you have very little to lose, and you might like them. :)

Great strings. Almost better than higher end strings!
Lil E 15.01.2020
I bought these strings because I desperately needed strings on my Harley Benton MB-5 bass. First impressions of the pack of strings was that they were just jammed in the pack, but that’s not the case. There’s just a lot of string. I put these on my bass and then put some Fast Fret on them. Felt great and still do after a week of various things.

Now the sound: great. It’s easier to bend notes and dig into them to get that bite. I feel that the tension is lower than other strings I have used. Sound wasn’t really affected, just brighter and better than the old set.

Conclusion: Get them! You probably need them. Up there with quality of Ernie Ball!

Nice strings, good value for the price
Anonymous 10.07.2016
Strings can be a big part of how the instrument feels, and I am not usually inclined to be a cheapskate when buying them. However, these play as well as other brand strings and really do not cost as much.

Some corners may have been cut, but in the end they just play quite well. I find the tension might be a little lower?and to be perfectly honest, it seems to me that they might be ever-so-slightly thinner than other strings of the same gauge (as advertised on the pack).

This is in no way a deal breaker, though. I mostly install them on my cheaper basses, but now I have a set on a nicer Jazz Bass and they play very well.

They seem to have a very decent lifespan. Perhaps they are not quite as bright as other brands when new, but they do keep their brightness for quite a while.

In conclusion, these are nice strings, could go well on any bass, really, and at this point my only complaint is that they do not do any six string version, which would be nice as nowadays I mainly play a sixer. Other than that, I highly recommend them.

Unbeatable for Their Price
Anonymous 10.12.2015
Bought these strings not expecting much since they were so cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised by what Harley Benton has to offer. I usually put stainless steel strings on my fretted basses and was curious if my Yamaha would retain its growly sound with these value strings. And it did, plus the B string sounded more defined than ever! I believe it is because the thicker three strings are tapered, so they wind around the tuning posts more easily.

I can't comment on the longevity of these strings, but right out of the box they did not sound as zingy as other, more expensive options. It's not a problem for me, but for others looking for that fresh string sound it might be a con, though.

I'll be the first to admit that Harley Benton strings are not as high quality as DR's, Rotosounds or Dunlops which are about 4 or 5 times more expensive, but they don't feel 4x worse. In fact, after putting these strings on it seems foolish to pay 30¤ for a roundwound set again.

Bottom line: if you play well and your bass sounds great, you will still sound good. Highly recommended.

I didn't have much money, needed new bass strings, bought these thinking they'll do the job in between. I was actually surprised by how great they were. They won't blow you away, but for this price, can't complain much. Would take a bunch of them with me on tour.

Price over quality!
Chronos 28.09.2013
When you do a lot of gigs on bass, you go through quite a lot of strings. You end up not caring about the quality of the string as you realise the tone of it dies within the first gig or two due to the sweat and dirt it will pick up from your fingers (yes you can clean them but thats something most people forget)

These are value for money! They are not as good as the more expensive strings, but will last as long for a fraction of the price. The difference in sound (on my bass guitars) is the tone is slightly muddier, just like when you have played on strings for a good week, and the volume is a little less.

These days I only buy value strings, unless I am recording.

Excellent bass strings
WhiteEdge 24.01.2016
. Not just for the price which is unbeatable, this HB strings ROCK on pair with Ernie Ball thomann and RotoSound. D'addario are little brighter than HB but for Nickel Plated Steel strings must say they have lots of pleasant ringing.
If you by this bass set you cant go wrong!
I love the blue ends on the strings and how fresh they sound, and thy stay thomann fresh for decent period of time..not as Elixir but not worse than Dunlop,EB,DAddario etc..
I pot this and 45-105 on my Fender Jazz Bass and Fender Sting Precision bass and sound is very good. I don't know why people would buy anything else, they're great
