No need to haul amp and pedalboard around to gigs
Copper Kelly 05.01.2022
After trying a friend's older headrush model, I took the plunge and got the mx5 and I've been delighted since. Really surprised at the responsive and through sounding tones I can get from this.

I completely replaced my gigging amp and pedalboard setup with this tiny unit and so far has performed fantastically.

I play country and metal and the mx5 really guitars for that twangy tube amp for country and super Hi Gain for metal. Incredibly versatile.

Not only do I run my electric guitars through this, I run my acoustic guitar through it to control my signal and add effects and I've been complimented many times now by other guitarists on the clean, crisp and controlled tone I get. I run my bass guitar through it also for recordings and I'm blown away.

I was able to achieve great tones very quickly. Threw on an amp, few pedals, slightly adjusted and gigged immediately with it. But you can also get into it with complex signal chains, but I'd rather not waste time with all that and just get creating music.

Touch screen is very precise and responsive compared to the older headrush models where you tap on things multiple times for it to register.

The only gripe I have is that the expression pedal is fairly useless. You would think it would have a button to engage it once you press down on the toe but no. Also the travel between the toe and heel is tiny with the effect only really engaging and making any modulation from the toe to only halfway torwards the heel. I would have perferred no expression at all and just have a smaller unit.

But other than that, the unit is fantastic. Really happy with the purchase. Can definitely recommend!

Just wow!
BurdOfDoom 28.09.2021
A really solid unit, built to last.

The versatility of this small package amp modeler and guitar fx is way more than I expected. Any sound is possible. All sounds are great through headphones, amp cabs in rehearsal space and studio speakers.

Will definitely have lots of fun with this and suits my needs for both bands I play in. From Doom/Death to Fuzzy Stoner/Alternative.
The integrated expression pedal is rigid and very responsive.

Extremely user friendly and intuitive, the only downside is that there isn't a standalone app for the PC, so when you use it along with a DAW and it's not on the desk itself you have to bend down each time to tweak the sound as you wish. Other than that it's pure awesome!

Compact enough to not be an issue to carry as hand luggage when playing gigs abroad. Same size as the Line6 M9.

I had a Line6 M9 which served me well but very limited to having 3 stomps only at one given time. Yes it has scenes etc but to change over on the fly during a live performance was not optimal for me, and did not want to attach other pedals as it would defy the point of having a compact unit for logistic purposes. The MX5 on the other hand is so easy to switch between whole rigs and its all seamless.

The cloud system is awesome as well, can download other artists rigs set-ups & IRs all of which are easy to transfer over to the MX5 unit without needing to be a PC genius.

Definitely recommend this to any guitarist out there.

Record and save loops without a computer nearby
forton 16.05.2022
I bought the mx5 to have an all in one package, sound variations are endless, the looper was the most important feature for me, I don't get it why so few multi effects have a way to save your pieces. If I want to edit everything on my computer I just can drag and drop the wav files. One feature I miss is a way to start a loop automatically when I start playing, and something to clean up in and out points on your first layer to start with a perfect loop.
