Finally decided to give my back a chance and cut down on my equipment.
After a long period of research, got me a Polar 10.
I am mostly performing solo acts at hotels and restaurants and got tired with all that hustle carrying two speakers, all the audio cables, power cables, speaker stands etc.
Setting up this speaker is a childs play. It's ready in no time, literally takes about one minute to set it up.
Sound is impressing at least. The mid gap is there but it is not that bad. Nothing you cannot compensate on your mixer. You do need to take care on your highs though. The tweeter is not kidding. Powerful little thing!!!
It has a very clean and present sound, nothing too sweet like a Bose for example but also not harsh. It is there, it is clean and it makes its stand.
My first gig with this was at a restaurant with 250 people. Piece of cake, didn't even break a sweat. Even though it was very warm (dryheat in Greece) the speaker did not get too hot. Let's say it was at an average working temperature.
One thing for everybody to know. This speaker throws impressively far. Highs, mids, lows, all the package is even at the furthest corners.
For me as a musician standing next to the column while playing was a quite delightful experience. Had clear sound in my ears, so, no monitoring needed.
The downside is the heavy bass unit, but it comes with a wooden case. So I have to accept that in order to get also a great responsive bass sound from a 10 inch woofer. Definitely sounds more like an 15 inch I would say!
The rest is great, top A quality on all knobs etc.
Cases are also good. After all they come free with the unit.
