These machines are well made. I took a risk with these hoping that they would fit my (early) CT 500/1 Contemporary Violin Bass. They do, the distance between centres is exactly the same as the holes but you will need different bushes.
The nice thing about the strip tuners, is that although they aren't historically correct for this particular model, and possibly not as good as the Hofner single tuners, they do cover the holes where the very poor Wilkinson tuners were fitted to my early Contemporary bass. I understand later models have better machines.
