I have broadband absorbers in my living room (a lot) and wanted to give some liveliness into the acoustic mix. As this is not a dedicated room the most important thing for me to have a product which is not too heavy, not too large, easy to pack away or stack, not fragile (made of wood) and of course its performance should be okay, so it should be as deep as possible to hit lower frequencies as well.
Well HOFA diffusor meets almost all of these. Only 2kg, 50x50x11cm, stackable, wife likes the look and I can put all of them away if necessary. The build quality is okay, the look and feel is great, the unit cost is cheap.
Well the hard part for me was the placement. In a living room it is not that obvious, especially because the back wall is just too close, no chance to put them there. Side walls already occupied. The wall behind the speaker did not worked well.
Finally I put them almost in line with the speakers forming a wall between them (stacked as 2x3).
Wow, that is some spaciousness I only experienced in much bigger rooms. Cool. Wonder what more of these could do.
