I bought both the medium and larger size to try with my tenor sax...for me they did not work and so I returned them, and am using my Jazzlab again which is really excellent at distributing weight but I just find it awkward and clumsy, especially when moving about, or sitting. The Hooki is a very good idea, it sits well and is discreet looking, both of which I want...but for me personally I found it hung the instrument too far to the right, especially on the larger size model, and also the point where the string starts to hang is too low for me...I felt I had to lift the instrument up and out more than with my Jazzlab. The hook on the Hooki is its weakest point, a small open hook with no lock at all, and I would never use that hook in case I dropped my instrument. I really think there is potential in this design overall...I would like in a Mark 2 version to see better shoulder pads perhaps, a better hook, a more central and higher point for the string to hang down from and pivot the weight from, and perhaps a method to bend it to personalise its shape...also if it could fold that would be great, but I'd be willing to forgo that if the rest was right.
