A
Great guitar
Arvind2025 21.02.2024
A great guitar. My first Ibanez premium after Rg 7321 and a Gio I dnt remember the exact model. The Japanese prestige is out of my budget so I went for this one instead of the other model that had Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups. Cheaper than this, Thomann sells genesis models that have the Japanese prestige fret job treatment so before buying do check them also. The genesis also have a strange bulky bolt on neck piece that I didn’t like plus the pickups they use I’ve never heard of them.
What I want to mention is Thomann did an excellent job shipping it to me safely. I also dnt think the guitar was setup. But that was a quick fix. I’m not a pro but I’ve used schecter , cort, deans with Floyd 1000 series trem and the same principle applies to gotoh trems. Hence a little advice to new players, check internet for videos. It’s really easy, I dnt blame Thomann really because any guitar player should start to learn some basic elements about setting up.

Now for the guitar
1.It stays in tune. I tested it and it’s great.
2.the sound is to my liking…ok. It’s di marzio. I expected something more equivalent sort of coming from a Mesa boogie(I like John Petrucci and Michael Romeo sound profile. But I own a zoom g5n and it’s too outdated compared to a line 6 helix. I only use a guitar amp floor pedal processor). I most certainly will buy a line 6 in the future to get my sound right.
3.The neck is not wizard type. It is a bit fatter, but easy to cling onto and play. The stainless steel frets are awesome. The fretboard is also roasted maple. I never used them before and I feel the strings very easy to bend, the guitar resonates very well. It’s pretty easy to access the higher frets too. Most of my guitars I CNT access the 24th fret easily except for rc7x dean off course. But this one is all right. I dnt know whether I’m able to bend so easily is it because of stainless steel frets?
4.I dnt like the position of the volume knob though. In my short testing period, many times I accidentally turned the volume knob. Maybe my palm muting is not ok?I’ll try to do it better next time.
5.i got a really great gig bag with this guitar. Thomann sent it or Ibanez gave it? Great
6.It has luminous side dots(I have not tested how long it last though at the time of review)
7.This guitar is good for shred. I can feel myself getting along well.

Hope this helps you decide for the instrument and sorry for my English. Cheers from Mauritius

Sloppy job

Cons :
the strings popping out of the nut as soon as I bend it (I expect this issue on entry level guitar not on a 1400 euros guitar).
The neck was bending forward so bad I had to screw the truss rod like crazy.
The back of the neck is the cheapest finish I have ever touch it just not smooth at all
Factory setup is strings hanging so high up you can actually cut your butter with it without making the guitar dirty at all
Pickup are stock with finger marks and no plastic cover so it isn't brand new

Pros :
if it was a 250 euros beginner guitar it would be perfect ? there is no pros it's just a scam at this point
