A good beginner guitar
WuM 26.06.2018
A great guitar for the beginner looking for a light and good looking guitar, with a fast and easy to play neck.

Let's start this review at the top:

The headstock is quite small. It does however have enough left over space for a clip tuner, and maybe a fret wrap. But don't expect to have enough space to also store your capo on the headstock. The tuning pegs however are positioned far enough from each other to make turning them easy without hitting the other pegs.

The tuners themselves are ok for home use, but don't hold tune very well. If I where to use this guitar for more than just practise, and maybe some lessons, I would upgrade them immediately.

The nut is ok, but on the guitar I received it needed to be filed down a little bit, since it was set up way to high. The nut itself is quite ok though. It isn't anything special, but with a bit of lubrication it does what it should do. This guitar does suffer from a bit of harmonic by noises coming from the strings between the tuning pegs and the nut. A fret wrap however is a great way to dampen these noises.

The neck is simply lovely, as is with any Ibanez. It feels comfortable to hold, and the playability is amazing. A real neck to shred your heart out.
The fretboard itself is smooth to the touch, and the radius makes for a great shred machine. Chords on the upper frets however are a bit less comfortable due to the flatness of the fretboard.

The fret work was as good as can be expected on a guitar in this price range. I was however pleasantly surprised that on my guitar there weren't any sharp fret ends. The frets did need a polish though to make the frets comfortable to play.

The pick ups are simply meh... They sound very clinical, with a lot of sharpness in the mids and highs while the lows are very undefined. They are however very quiet when it comes to unwanted noise, which is a rarity in this price range.

The electronics however are by far and away the biggest issue with this guitar. On the guitar I received all the knobs where noisy when used, and the tone knob stopped working all together after a couple of months. I replaced the entire electronics for some left over parts, and this made a massive difference, both in the quietness when operating the knobs, as the sound of the guitar when it is amplified. (If you are looking for a great blanc canvas to modify, I would highly recommend this guitar after I got such great results with just left over parts)

The great thing about natural finishes, is that the manufacturer can't hide imperfections, or glue lines as easily as they can on painted guitars. On this particular guitars I can only identify 3 pieces of wood that make up the body. Which in this price range s simply amazing.

The body itself has a nice shape, with the bellycut making it comfy when the guitar sits on your lap. There isn't any real bevels or extra cut aways near the upper frets. However upper fret access is very good.

The strap buttons on this guitar aren't very good. Even a new strap slides easily on and off the knobs, so I replaced hem with strap locks, even though I don't use this guitar live.

Great Guitar For Beginers
AuroraBR 08.10.2021
It is surprisingly well built guitar considering it's price.

Headstock and Neck is standard quality of Ibanez. Very thin neck and quiet flat fret board is very comfortable. Frets are very well treated, there were no sharp ends on my guitar. But they need to be shined up.

Tuners are fine but I suggest upgrade. I already upgraded mine Planetwave Lockin tuners which lying around. I strongly suggest buying et least Gotoh SG-381 MG together with guitar(You need to drill headstock for installation) for the sake of comfort and tuning stabilty.

Pickups are just meh, which is normal in this price range, but surprisingly low noise. Parallel mode for Neck Humbucker in Position 4 is quiet interesting feature. Biggest downside is electronics. Mini pots are not best around, I suggest upgrade.

Overall It is beautiful, comfortable and good quality guitar. I am happy with the guitar.

Generally good.
Nick000 04.01.2022
The guitar is very nice but the issue with mine was that the frets were dirty when the guitar arrived and the higher strings looked worn probably due to humidity. Thomann did respond positively to this and I am pleased with the company's approach. However, I didn't avoid the trip to the luthier.

Very nice guitar!

A very good guitar for the price. Unlike the previous one, it is very convenient due to the lack of floyd rose. The color is just gorgeous! The build of the guitar is very good, nothing wobbles, it was packed well!
Very good for newbies and Intermediate lvl gyes.

I like this guitar so good, i don't want to use my older ones actual.

Sounds almost real great (usualy I change pick up on the footbridge position , first thing that I have donne before plug in the Amp (Engl gig master) pick up sounded considerable di-Marzo like ! you cant?wish for anything better and more clear, verry modern, can stand use of lots of gain without getting muddy)

My self would suggest a 6 (six) Star rating if applicable sound is wonder full for modern sounds. Full basic tone; even only oiled (the vibrating oft he single strings a not boxed with any coulour ! No additional cost necessary cause oft he Pick Ups (di marzio designed, or genuine? No matter) Less weigth, pretty usefull at the stage cause of low body weight (ligth I assume african mahogany) Easy handling, cause oft he middle thin neck , specialy for short fingers (mine are) and ideal for rythm as for shredding work.

Very good enforcement capacity (durchsetzungsstark ;German) A recomandation :for beginnners (low budget) advanced players ,and professionals (as 2th. Instrument on stage) I would like to get this performance with everynew guitar I would buy (serious man (and of couse mons ang girls) it will kepp you 3 steps ahead of all the other guitar players.

F
4 months with my first guitar
Freshon 24.02.2021
>Absolutely beautiful look for this price, love this combination of chrome and wood.
>I am playing on Marshall Code 50 and I love the clean sound of this guitar. It has a little bit of glass shade and great dynamic. But distortion isn't so good. I mean, it's okay, it's chunky, but I just don't like it.
>And the last one, quality... There's some issues about that. The body material is very soft. A light knock on the table and a small dent is provided. And what is more important, fretwork. The 24th fret crawls out of the fretboard a little, but this is enough for e string to get stuck under this fret.
For the next problem that has arisen with quality, I may be to blame because of my inexperience. But fact is the fact. I have a clang on the first fret. I've tried to tune it with neck deflection and string heights. New strings didn't helped too.

In the end I'll say some typical thing. This guitar isn't perfect, but I love it for the feels that its giving me for these money. The feel of a thin neck, look and clean sound is awesome.

Worth more than the price
Gluke 07.04.2019
Bought for play at home with earphone. It's a very beautiful guitar and this help in falling in love with her, very easy to use, and sounds better than many more expensive guitars. Like in many cheap Ibanez the selector feature is very poor and the frets are a little disturbing when you move faster, but it's a great choice for this price, Thomann service was great

A very good guitar for the price
Andreas Ter. 30.12.2019
It is a very good looking, comfortable and versatile guitar.

The natural finish looks and feels amazing (the only downside is that it might be easier to damage than, for example, a polyester finish). The neck is really comfortable and relatively thin, which combined with the smoothness of the fretboard, contributes to the great playability of this guitar. The frets themselves were also quite pleasing, without any sharp ends.

As for the sound, it is very decent, especially for this price, with nice cleans (though a bit clinical) and thick distorted sounds. The pickups provide a great variety of tones, making the guitar extremely versatile. The only thing that I would want, is a stronger bridge pickup, but with this price, I can not really complain.

Awesome bang-for-buck!
Dolving999 07.06.2018
I was looking for a versatile guitar and boy, does this deliver!
The sound is full and rich with the mahogany body and high-output humbuckers, and you also get that single coil twang from the split sounds.

The only con I've found is that due to the finish, it does tend to get a little dirtier than usual (dust can accumulate a bit between the normal tinny wooden cracks), but it is purely nitpicking at this price point.

Great guitar for the price
Anonymous 19.07.2016
Great guitar for playing rock music, but not only. Has a nice, thick sound, when driven. Guitar itself is really light and comfortable to use. Stays in tune quite well. The set-up was really well done and the guitar was even almost in tune! Came with D'Addario 10-46 strings, which suited really well.
I really like the finish and simpliness of the instrument. One tone knob, one volume knob and a 5-way switch make the action really simple. The neck is also relatively thin, which makes it a good instrument for those, who are used to stratocasters.
On the negative side, the guitar does not cover too big variety of sounds and does not act too well using only a light distortion. On the other hand, it makes really good sound when fully driven and is a great guitar for playing 80's rock/metal music.
