Great sound for good price

I play pop-rock music. Have used zildjian ZBT series cymbals before. I can compare Zildjian ZBT and Samatya as Opel and Ferary.

Samatya:
Hi hat clear, has nice high sound tone, good attack.
18? crash warm, has good sustain.
20? ride has a lot sustain, can be used as crash/ride especially then hitting near the edge. Should sound good for D&B in my Opinion. Those who need clear straight bell sound might not like it. Bell is quite small, there are a bit too much sustain after hitting it. Has warm sound on the edge and nice sustainable highs closer to the center.

Minus is the printed (brand name) paint quality. Sticks got black after first try. Some black spots appeared on the hi-hat. I think, it will not be possible to see the brand name on the cymbals after the first cleaning.
Cymbals bag included looks a bit cheap. Has no separation for cymbals.
All in all sound is great. Quality/durability (except printed letters and bag) looks good.

Nice surprice

I came across a 15 inch Samatya crash awhile ago and was stunned by the quality of sound! I mean QUALITY! Now I own a whole set of Istanbul Samatya and I'm asking myself "where was I all those years":0
Very happy with these cymbals! And last but not list, they're way underpriced for the quality you get!

Great cymbals for this price
Anonymous 06.08.2014
These are very impressive sounding cymbals. Full and lush with great definition and a large dynamic range in response to how hard or soft you hit them. The hi hats are sweet sounding and give the impression that they will record well. There is none of the 'clanginess' that you find with cheap cymbals. This set cost me the equivalent of around £250, which places them at the 'cheaper' end of what's available. I've seen the 20" ride advertised for 329 dollars on its own (Cymbal House) so this set is a bargain. There are better sounding cymbals but, honestly, you'd have to pay far more and audition each one separately to find a marked improvement on these. Overall I'd say this set is an excellent purchase and I'm very pleased.

Good sound for that price, NOTE: those cymbals are note for heavy hand like Lars Ulrich

Bright, not too heavy

Was looking for something that would fit in well with elektronic kick and snare sounds, this is bright and not too heavy (both in sound and weight) so fits my needs perfectly!

This is a very nice starters set, sound great for general types of music (pop and rock). And can be extended with the nice set Istanbul Mehmet Samatya Cymbal Set 3.
