Great case, almost perfect.
Pete plays jazz 25.03.2019
I love my Jakob Winter case. It does exactly what a case is supposed to do and protects my horn beautifully. It fits the mouthpiece, neck, a 4 reed case, and my neck strap inside so I have everything I need when I get to the gig and open the case. The two straps that allow me to wear the case on my back are great and I could walk a long way if required. I also love that it opens completely and sits flat when open. I can put the horn down in the case without worrying the lid will fall on it. What I would love for the case to have would be to have another handle at the "top" of the case and some feet on the bottom of the case (near the bottom of the bell) so it would "stand up" when I am on a crowded train or bus, though is is not crucial, just nice to have. The finish looks like it will deal with a real beating and still look good, though only time will tell that. In the end the lightness, great protection, and quality finish, makes it great value for money and one of the best, if not the best case on the market.

T
super light weight
TootToot 03.02.2019
I bought this case primarily because of its weight (or lack thereof) and as such it is a wonderfully light weight case.

Unfortunately on the whole it is let down by a couple of other factors. It only has a single handle on the case, so its primary method of carrying are the backstraps on the back, and they're not terribly comfortable.

The clips holding the case shut seem to spring open quite easily. The clips are also really big and seem to extend beyond the curve of the case, meaning at some angles they stick out, making it even easier to bump them open.

On the inside, the bottom of the moulding where the saxophone rests is a nice soft velvet, but the sides of the moulding is hard and unforgiving.

There's room inside for the sax itself, a mouthpiece and a neck. Anything else would need to be carried in one of those "in-bell pouches" you can buy.

All in all, if weight is your primary concern, I'd still recommend this case. But if you can tolerate an extra kg or so, there are better cases out there.
