Over the last 4 years I’ve been using a pair of Bose S1 Pro but find the lower frequency’s are not very well defined. Saw a guy using the JBL IRX One playing a wedding gig and it sounded amazing. I’ve been reluctant to purchase a column type system because generally they lack definition in the mids. The crossover point for the IRX is more into the mid range of a guitar and the sub can certainly handle the lower frequencies and the guitar extremely well. The 6 mid to high frequency speakers on the upper section give sparkle without being shrill or “tinny”. My application just for reference is solo vocal, guitar and backing tracks (on a Boss RC-5) into an Elite Acoustics Stomp Mix then onto the JBL IRX One.
I used it yesterday at an outside venue and it performed flawlessly . Didn’t have to use the Feedback killer button but I know from testing this at home it’s very effective without taking away too much frequency content. Would I buy another? Yes for bigger gigs, 2 would be great. Would I recommend to a friend? Definitely
