Too good to be true
MesaB 24.12.2020
I needed a solution to control my old Adam P33 monitors, which are now used to listen to the music in the living room. Kali Audio MV-BT seemed like ideal solution because of its bluetooth connectivity and simplicity of use.
Unfortunately this unit is so noisy that can not be used at low volumes. The moment you play something from the connected device there is a loud unpleasant hiss that stops only when you stop playback. I tried different cables, different devices (mobile phones, pc's) but the hiss noise is always there. It does not increase with the volume but stays at the same level as you increase it. Eventually it becomes less audible but than you need to listen to very very loud music to mask the noise.
I will send this unit back. It is unusable at home, let alone in a studio. It could work maybe on some some low power speakers, but on the 2x350W active studio monitors, it's way to noisy. Sorry Kali Audio, this unit is below consumer product level quality. Could not imagine it in professional use.

I can hear the self noise of MV-BT from 4,5 meters away from my monitors. Pretty disappointing for something meant to be used in studio.

Don't buy this unit
DmitrijSilov 16.04.2022
It may seam like pro unit from description and price level, but it isn't. While it does the Bluetooth job, this unit will always play noticeable hiss during playback and sometimes would hiss even without playback. Very disappointing especially for the price level.

And another small negative detail:
If you powerdown the unit, it won't remember the loudness level so you have to dial it again when you power it up. It's not a big deal if you keep your audio set-up always powered, but is a trouble if you e.g. turn everything off in you studio.
And "cool" blue light is not regulated, so this doesn't suit for bedroom setup.
