A
Great value stand
Anonymous 26.09.2016
I've been looking for a reliable, modular keyboard stand that I could add to over time. Something sturdy with plenty of options available for future expansion whilst also being easy to assemble and store away if necessary. I have to say that this stand has not only lived up to but surpassed all of those.

Currently I'm using it to hold an old, bulky Yamaha keyboard that has some basic MIDI in/out. I'm looking to switch that out in due time but for now this keyboard does what it needs to and it's fairly hefty - a good test to see how well it sits on the stand. So far there have been zero issues and the keyboard itself sits comfortably with plenty of room to spare despite its size.

The arms are very stable and the unit itself is exceptionally sturdy. Each component is made from steel and features several holes set distances away from one another, wherein you can change the height of the stand or the distance between the arms easily. Of these settings, there are a variety of different choices available. The arms themselves can also be positioned accordingly to hold virtually any kind of atypical keyboard or synthesizer and the legs can be locked in position for playing whilst sitting or while standing - all in all there are 13 different height levels available which is more than enough to tailor it to your preferred kind of position for playing.

Assembly was straight forward and the instructions did a perfect job of getting straight to the point and visually demonstrating what needed to go where. I had the stand assembled and ready to go in less than five minutes and if you're looking to change the height (or arm distance) after, it's just a matter of unscrewing, readjusting and then tightening once again. Washers are provided to prevent damage to the steel over time and bump-ons - small but thick circular adhesive rubber pads - are provided for peace of mind to prevent your keyboard from sliding around.

Additionally, velcro-strips are also included to reduce fussing over wires, enabling you to simply run the wire(s) down along the legs of the stand in a tidy fashion. The instructions give a rundown on where is best to place these strips as well as a guide for placing the bump-ons correctly.

Finally, the colour of the unit is not quite as vibrant as displayed. It's a bit darker but still maintains a warmness to it. A welcome departure from atypical black stands with plenty of the expansions available in the corresponding colour also.

All in all, this stand is perfect for what I needed it for. Sturdy, reliable and ridiculously easy to assemble, with plenty of additional touches (colour, velco-strips, bump-ons, etc) to make an already great product all the better.

Pros: Solid construction, durable material, velcro-strips provided for wire-routing, bump-ons provided to prevent units from sliding off, exceptionally easy to assemble/disassemble, multitude of various leg height/arm distance options available & plenty of expansions available separately.

Cons: Susceptible to paint chips and cracking if tightened too forcefully, expansions don't seem to be so readily available in matching colour(s) (default being black), keyboard arms lacking rubber handles thus enabling the keyboard to slide around a little (though bump-ons are provided for this reason) & the unit does take up a bit of space.

Would highly recommend. Purchased K&M 18813 and K&M 18819 expansions along with this stand and reviews for those respective items can be found on their page.

I bought this to go with my Nord Stage 3 - the red looks gorgeous with the Nord and it's very sturdy even when I'm using lots of force on the keys. I'd definitely recommend this!
