Great, handy little accessoire
Johan SpinOff 28.12.2019
I use this primarily to be able to position/turn a stereo bar at the top of a microphone stand. Some other uses over the years as well ...

I actually have two of those. The second one rarely gets used but I'm always happy to have it with me just in case I need to position a microphone in a certain unnatural position.

Just watch out, there is a version with 1/4" male thread which almost looks the same! I accidentally bought such one.

Pros:
- Comes in handy unexpectedly
- Possibility to position a microphone (or stereo bar) in almost any thinkable position

Cons: I don't have any

M
Very well built
MikePT 07.03.2024
All metal construction feels very sturdy and well built
Operation is smooth and precise, when unlocking the dial both the ball joint and the lower mounting thread free up for precise adjustment in all directions.
I use it at the end of a low boom stand where I mount a K&M 23550 stereo bar with two pencil mic, the ball end allows horizontal operation of the stereo bar no matter the angle of the boom.
The ball screw is 3/8 inch and the female bottom thread is also 3/8. A 1/4 inch female adapter is included.

EB
Good little Ball & Socket adapter, very well made.
Ed Bray 04.04.2018
Bought a couple of these for use with low level tripods to mount a couple of the T-Box MA5 monitors. Very well made and exceptionally strong for their size. We took the adapter out of the base and they mounted directly onto the stands with a 3/8th thread. The adapter for the MA5 then screwed directly onto the top of the Ball & Socket joint, making a multitude of positions instantly available.

Well made but not that useful
BernieW 03.11.2022
This mount appears to be a ball or universal joint but it's really more like a hinge. It has 90 degrees of movement in one plane but very little side movement in the other. The materials are strong and the machining accurate, the clamp always works well and there are no signs of poor manufacturing, but the design seems disappointing when you find how limiting it is to use. There is 90 degrees movement not 180 in the main plane too, so that's even more limiting. I was hoping to use it with a stereo bar for microphones so I could angle the bar better when I had limited positions for the mic stand, but found it disappointing. I would prefer a simple 180 degree swivel without the few degrees of side travel that just make it feel loose.

OE
A nice, solid piece of engineering that does it's job perfectly
Ollie E. 27.04.2016
This product has been a great help in the studio. It makes getting microphones into hard to reach places a whole lot easier.

I've found this to have a few uses already. One is for use with a stereo bar, which makes it a lot easier to get a pair of microphones up on the end of a boom to use as overheads, for perhaps drums or as I have found, very useful for recording a choir. I also use this for a single mic in a shock mount, which makes getting the microphone at the right angle very easy. It is simple to adjust, with just the turn of the screw, and then you're ready.

It is very solidly constructed, which the 5 year guarantee that comes from the manufacturer suggests. You can easily hang a large tube mic from it without worrying about the weight of it causing the angle to drop. You pay for quality here, it is absolutely top notch!

This is one of those products where you think 'How was I able to work without this?' It is small and simple yet it is so effective, it just does its job perfectly. It really is a must for any studio or stage. If you have a boom that doesn't have the smaller arm on the end of it (which is normally pointing downwards) then this really is a must, it fills that position wonderfully!

AK
A really nice tool to have
Alex Krvs 03.03.2021
So I use this with a K&M 25950 Extra low Microphone stand, so I can be able to have my stand parallel to a drum set and have my mic at a 90? angle, so I can save space in front of my drum set.
It was a perfect choice and I will definitely buy another couple, so I can do the same thing with my piano microphone stands.

It's one of those little accessories that you may live without UNTIL you use it one day :)) Now I have it on all of my mic stands.

Over-Engineered Versitility
Daniel C 18.08.2017
These adapters are over engineered to a high degree, but they are robust and sturdy, managing to hold a decent weight condenser on a wall for a god 9-10 months without any sag. The flexible angle mechanism allows for mics to be angled anywhere within a half-spherical radius, and lock in at that position with the thumb screw. The only caviat is that it's a bit pricey for what it is.

My Secret weapon for touring!
Jamie Elton 18.10.2022
I love these things! Have a bunch of them for studio and touring work. My favourite use is by attaching to Sennheiser drum mic clips for extended flexibility to use "non-clip" designed microphones (pencil condensers for snare most often for me). Super well built, simple, solid and so much smaller and less ugly than using Claws or big drum clamps.

Can't recommend enough!
