Very solid stage/practice piano
heimb 01.04.2019
Korg D1 digital piano and the stand that fits it is perfect for my daily practice. The main reason being the RH3 weighted keybed which is just perfect, the keys are even and solid, not too light and not too stiff.
The build quality is very good, it is compact and has this solid look about it. Quite heavy though but then it is not plastic.
Korg D1 offers 30 sound but I am mostly concerned with the piano sound and the grand piano is very nice indeed.
One should notice that there are no speakers involved so pair of active monitors could be a choice in the future. As of now I use Sennheiser headphones and the rest of the family seems to like that. hmm...for whatever reason.

Excellent key action on a really performing piano/studio keyboard
thatwastricky 05.09.2018
The RH3 key action feels amazing and provides an excellent range while playing.
The on-board sounds, while I don't think that they reach the studio-level quality of some other Korg keyboard, are definitely good enough for stage or amateur music production.
The instrument itself feels solid, and it's not that heavy (15/20 kg).
The features it offers are pretty basic, like layering or the metronome, and it lacks some of the stables of competing models, like splitting and internal speaker.
This last one is especially a bummer for me: sometimes I want to play for other people and it is really practical to just press the ON button without having to fire up an amplification system...
But I wouldn't really consider it a con, since I think that this model aim is to be integrated in a studio environment as a controller with internal sounds.
As for connectivity it offers two stereo/mono line OUT, an headphone port and the standard MIDI IN/OUT, which can be converted to USB with a cheap interface in order to communicate with almost any DAW.
In my opinion a great piano for just about everyone, especially people interested in music production.

It is what it is.

A nice sounding digital piano with the brilliant RH3 keybed at a reasonable price. I bought this as an at-home practice piano and for that purpose has performed flawlessly.

Pros:
- Superb keyboard with nice action, touchweight could be described as medium to heavy. Substantial feel but not tiring to play.
- Solid build, has so far withstood 3+ years of use and is still as good as new.
- Piano sounds are decent enough for everyday playing and practice.
- Nice minimal design, looks good and is very stable when used with the Korg SV1 STBK stand.

Cons:
- The supplied damper pedal does not support partial pedalling. You will need to get the Korg DS1H pedal to take advantage of half-damping on the D1.

Good bang for the buck!

Wonderful compact piano. Bought this for practicing at home as the room it was going in was rather small, and it's serving its intention flawlessly. I wasn't too excited about the built-in sounds (especially the keyboard force volume curve), but having anticipated this I bought it alongside a USB MIDI interface. After pairing this with the Native Instruments Grandeur piano plugin I couldn't be happier.

Construction is solid. Keybed feels great. There's a surprising amount of hidden features for which you'll need to whip out the manual, like automatic shutdown after 4 hours of inactivity; great for me as I keep forgetting to turn it off.
