Yes they do get the congas off the (carpeted) floor and thereby increase the sound by having a gap underneath, however, they aren't quite as stable as one would wish, they don't stay in place as well as they should, and the rope linking them all together doesn't do anything useful and just gets in the way, so I've abandoned them and instead made myself some hard circular bases out of a spare piece of mdf.

Good for mounting Congas / Djembi on the floor. However they can come apart and your instrument my drop on the floor, if not carful.
