These are like the 450cc, V8, 4 barrel carburetor of drums. They are huge, and they are loud! First off, I ordered these from Thomann because I needed them in black and could not find them in the states. Delivery from this company was unbelievably easy, got them from Germany to Philadelphia in about a week and in perfect condition. Anyway, these drums are surprisingly well made for the price, and look great! I ordered the black ones, which have the appearance of black drums with some of the wood grain visible through the paint (wrap? Not sure), which really looks nice. The stock heads are pretty good, you may not have to rush out to buy different heads if you know how to tune your drums (I bought new ones because I don’t like clear heads and am not great with tuning, also wanted black heads to match the drum color). The bass drum heads are very well made, and you wouldn’t need much as far as dampening if you kept the original sturdy heads. Finally, these drums will take up quite a bit more room, so be mindful of that, they’re staying in my basement, but thinking of all of the small stages I’ve ever played where space is limited, these would not fit on most of them. Did I mention they are LOUD??? If I used these drums in my previous band I would likely not have passed the audition. Love these drums!
