Anyone looking for a good, sturdy and reliable pedal in this price range is in for a great experience with this P600. Double chain makes a massive difference and works really well with the baseplate in giving the whole pedal much more strength. I cannot fault this pedal, would definitely buy again if I had to!

My standard drum pedal for my Gretsch Renown Maple drumkit is a Pearl P-2000C PowerShifter Eliminator Chain which I love. Recently I purchased a Roland TD11-KV electronic drumkit to study and practice at home without disturbing the neigbourhood. The first weeks I used the Pearl but finally decided it would be more practical to get a second drum pedal for the Roland. With a priority list featuring "maximum 70 Euro", "must have a base plate" and "must have a plastic beater in order not to damage the surface of the Roland bass drum" I ended up buying the Mapex P600 which is OK for the job but a trifle too noisy even after having checked all parts and having applied some machine oil.
