Simply in love with it
Howard 18.02.2021
Use: at home, occasional gig. Through Ampeg Portaflex 500 and 2 4x10 Kustom cabs.
Like: pretty much everything about it. I like blue guitars, but that’s just personal preference. The rounded edges on the neck are a lovely feature that makes playing even for long periods a pleasure. Starting at the headstock. Excellent high geared tuners, holds its tuning very well. Nut, perfectly set. Fretboard, rolled edges, well dressed frets. Neck joint, no gaps or blemishes. Bridge, I like the option of string through (the way it is shipped) or bridge string location. Saddles are rollers. Electronics, this is where the bass really shines. I no longer need to use different patches on my Boss effects pedal to radically change tones. The range of sounds available is truly astonishing, even if it takes a few minutes to get exactly how it all works. Intonation, mine was set up perfectly, I didn’t have to touch it. Also the action was at a height that suits me, not too low, not too high, although again that is a matter of personal preference.
Meh: The headstock looks a little bit too large in my opinion, a little too wide. The neck is C which is like my older basses, although I have in recent times become more accustomed to an Ibanez neck profile. Only a minor issue for me as I will happily play just about any neck profile, but worth mentioning if any potential purchaser has a serious dislike of C necks. I don’t suppose it would be a good idea to stand it on the pointy end at the bottom of the bass very often.
Overall, I am very happy indeed with this bass. I’ve hardly used any of my other basses since it arrived.

Extraordinary bass for the money
Rich 'The Prof' F-G 05.04.2019
This is a fantastic bass guitar. It looks fantastic, sounds incredible, and plays like the proverbial butter. If I'd never heard of the company and someone told me these basses cost a thousand euros more, I'd believe them.

The tonal balance is astonishing. In passive and with a neutral tone, the bottom is warm and full and there's just enough cut to get past the drummer. Add the preamp, and the possibilities become endless. I've managed to get everything from 'all bottom no top' ground-shaking reggae tones to piercing slap sounds.

The neck is my favourite part of the bass. Beautifully rolled frets on silky smooth ebony, with just-the-right thickness C-shape. It is a dream to play. I have had difficulty putting it down.

Did I say it also looks gorgeous?

I like this bass so much I am tempted to get rid of my 5 string made in Germany 90s Warwick FNA Jazzman and get the 5 string version of this instead, and I love my Jazzman.

One small thing - my tone knob was cracked, but a. that doesn't affect the bass in any way and b. they sourced me a replacement as soon as I let them know.

Worth any euros you pay

A great instrument at a reasonable cost. I'm not a professional bass player but I use it in my studio to prepare the backing track and this bass is perfect: great quality (smooth edges are wonderful), great sound and a look that I love.

The M7 is IMO the best of the 7-series
Eirik H 26.08.2019
I have Vv7, V7, P7 and now the M7. And the most expensive one of them, the M7 is the best. Fantastic pallete of sounds that give you a variety of possibilities... And the playability and feeling of the new neck (2nd gen) is just fantastic! I did not think it would beat the feeling of the P7, but it did! If you have any experience with the Marcus Miller series from before you know what I'm talking about.

Versatile
FreshBeans 19.10.2024
Very versatile sounding and playing bass. Pickups are decent and there are lots of juicy tone combinations, and the ability to run it passive not only sounds great for classic tones, but also saves the hassle of batteries.

Construction is as good as any Asian instrument barring the Japanese shops, with neat joins and finishing everywhere and only some minor discrepancies around the backplate fit that you would have to squint to notice.
It's not all wondefulk though - the pots are far too light and easily knocked, and the figures maple top is a very low grade. It will not look anything like the quilt you see advertised here. All example I've seen (including mine) are a pretty low grade flame with many of them having large plain or spalted areas.
The fretboard is very well done however with lovely finishing and rolling all over. The wood is dense and smooth and feels great in hand.
The C shaped maple neck is fairly deep if you are used to thin, fast necks, but still plays very nicely and is easy to move around.
