AMAZING value for the price!
Marksman 23.01.2019
This V3 bass by Sire is simply an amazing bass considering the price. First of all, let me say that the manufacturing quality is way above its price range. The only real comment I have about its quality is the chromed hardware: the finish is not perfect, but again - we're talking about a 379 EUR bass. The Heritage 18v pre-amp operates as expected, providing huge flexibility in shaping the sound. A frequency sweep control know for mid-range cut/boost is available instead of the more common switch with 3 pre-selected frequencies. I really appreciated the active/passive switch: in passive mode the bass sounds very much like a typical Jazz bass. The B string sounds OK, not floppy or muddy. I couldn't notice any noise in the output, not even when in active mode I cranked the treble to maximum - I tested this using a Focusrite Scarlett USB interface. Rolled fretboard edges are a nice touch, usually present in higher level products only. The bass came equipped with D'Addario XL strings which appear a good fit to me, installed through the body (traditional through the bridge installation is also possible of course). A chromed pickup cover and three Allen keys (for truss rod adjustment) are included in the box. Highly recommended bass!

Great sound, great feel and great looks!

An amazing bass that sounds incredible, looks beautiful and feels smooth as butter!

I use this at home currently, but I hope to use it for gigs in the future. As a previous 4-string player, I can assure you that there is no need to worry about if you will be able to play a 5-string. I found that I adjusted very quickly. The rolled fretboard edges help with this, as they allow your fretting hands much better access to the entire fretboard. The string spacing is a perfect balance between being easy to move across different strings, but not so close that you get caught up fretting the wrong string. The lacquered finish on the headstock looks great but isn't present on the neck which makes sliding your hand around very easy.
The Heritage 3 preamp combined with the Revolution pickups sound amazing and the preamp gives you a huge amount of tonal versatility. The active-passive switch is really handy, as you can still play without batteries if you want/need to.
The sunburst finish is beautiful and paired with the chrome hardware this bass is truly stunning. I cannot say enough good things about this bass! BUY IT!

A well-crafted and finished product at an affordable price
Five Phase 30.04.2022
This bass is comfortable to hold and play and sounds good even with a flat EQ. It make practice a pleasure. As an intermediate player, the V3 will be more than adequate for my purposes for the foreseeable future.
