One of the best investments to your acoustic playing
Erique 04.05.2023
I will make this short, because the 5 stars to all aspects above already say a lot.

I mulled over the various options of an electro-acoustic for months (perhaps a year even). I had tried different Taylors and Martins (as the main big names in the field; yes, there are also other big names that make quality, I know), but still ended up with going with this Maton. Being in search of "versatility meets quality while not breaking the bank entirely", this Maton SRS808 seemed to tick all the boxes - the reviews, the specs, the brand in general, the alleged quality of craftsmanship, the players of the brand (Tommy Emmanuel!) all put me on track to purchasing this guitar.

And simply wow - has this instrument brought me the acoustic joy I was after or what! Every time I pick it up it brings that special kind of inspiration where you can't put the guitar down before some new idea for a song or something else has emerged. It is an inspiration machine. Once set up according to your hands (I like a nice low action with Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings 12-56), it will bring you so much joy of playing you wouldn't believe it. The way I have it set up creates a sort of a "bell-like" sound quality - really loving the mid-high frequencies, the loudness, and generally all the sound qualities it has. And of course the AP5-Pro preamp onboard is a gem on its own - I actually record this acoustic direct to the audio interface, using some additional outboard gear (Neve style preamp etc, compressor) or plugins, and I am getting amazing results.

Anyhow, buying this instrument will be an investment you will cherish for many many years to come, I am certain of it. And buying it from Thomann made it even less of a hassle - quick shipping, quality customer service etc.

If you are not certain, still considering your options, then yes, this is the guitar you want.
